Q&A: When would you put your baby in a toddler bed?
My husband and I are going to start to try for another baby when my daughter turns one… at that age should we try to put her in a toddler bed? The reason I ask the question is because when the baby comes, I don’t want her to think she is getting pushed aside and the new baby is taking her crib.. so i want her in her own bed before the baby comes, that way she is already used to it… so about when should I transition her to her own bed?

I would wait until a couple months before youd be due with the next because they say to wait until a child turns 2 before putting them in a bed. that will be enough time for her to get used to it and she wont feel pushed aside. at one year of age she is still such a baby.

I put my son in a toddler bed when he was old enough to understand that he had to go to sleep and he wasn’t allowed to get up, each child matures differently. My son was 17 months old when transitioned into a toddler bed, my daughter was 2 years old.
