6 months is the usual recommended time to begin offering solids. An occassional baby may need something a bit earlier (but never before 4 months) and some babies aren’t interested until somewhat later — 7-10 months is quite common.
3 months is usually when you start. They say to start out with just plain rice cereal. Then add the fruits and veggies trying only one kind a week to rule out allergies. Me personally i never listened to that and tried out a couple. Just start him out slow and dont be surprised if he spits it back out the first few times cuz its something new to him. Also I know its tempting to wanna try all the fruits, but try the veggies first so that way he doesnt get used to the sweet and reject the veggies.
Most pediatricians would say to wait until your baby is 6 months old before trying new foods. The introduction of novel foods before your baby is ready for it might lead to allergies. But maybe is showing signs he is ready! These are the signs you can look for:
* he is about six months old
* he can sit up with help
* his birth weight has doubled
* he has lost the tongue-thrusting reflex and does not push solids out of his mouth
My son was 20 pounds at 3 months old – and I waited until he was 6 months to start solids.
I hope this helps!

If a child weighs at least thirteen pounds and has good head control, solid foods can be started as early as three months. Otherwise 4-6 is the recommended age. I stated my daughter on rice cereal at 3 months she had great head control and was 13lbs 8ozs.
Talk to your pediatrician. The AAP and most pediatricians now recommend 6 months to prevent food allergies, but every baby is different and some parents start them on rice cereal at 4 months.
it’s recommended to start weaning at 6months old.
some parents start at 4months though it’s not advised
Around 6 months
