What’s A Good Educational Gift For 18 Month Old?
I didn’t know if there were any ideal educational toys that I could get an 18 month old. He’s pretty busy and doesn’t have a huge attention span but is showing some interest in shapes and stuff.
Can you give me some gift ideas?

My 18 mo. old daughter LOVES taking toy cars out of a box, then talking about them. We will talk about their colors, if they are a car or a truck, etc. (She’s got lots of boy cousins and loves anything that goes ‘vroom-vroom’). You can use any kind of toy as an educational toy. I would recommend just taking soemthing he likes and making a smart game of it.
Stacking blocks are great, word books are great, just be proactive with him and interact. You are really the best ‘educational gift’ you can give a child.

My 16 month old son loves interactive books. Not the electronic kind, but the touch and feel kind of books with bright colors. He has an animal one that shows different textures of animal furs he can run his hands over.

i got my son a thomas the train interactive book with a remote..he mainly plays with the remote..lol…u could buy him a shapes toy, an interactive book, a leapfrog piano, a puzzle of some sort,a plastic hammer and nails from playschool,an aquadoodle…or an alphabet train

I was going to suggest the leap frog fridge phonics toy also. My daughter got one last Christmas (she was 18 months then) and she still loves it to this day. She learned alphabet song at that age, and is now working on the phonics (letter sounds). She even uses all of the letters to line up like a train! Its one of the only toys she still plays with often and hasn’t out grown.

I was also going to suggest Fridge phonics. My daughter is getting one for Christmas.
Puzzles are also good to introduce now (Melissa and Doug with the big pieces).
Books, any books kids learn so much from books.
