a family member smoke and wants to hold my children. Should i let them hold them or not?

There’s no real way to know for sure if there are short or long term effects. No one has done any studies exposing infants to marijuana smoke. So,best advice. Don’t let anyone smoke near your kids. And don’t let them hold them after you know they have been smoking.

No, She can get 3rd degree smoke. She should easily get her face on their clothing and breath in. I don’t think I would let a pot smoker around my child any way. My baby is far too important to me.

The problem is probably not so much the smoke on the person’s clothes, but rather that person’s self-control and reliability. You’d better avoid such people’s company, especially when your kid.is around.

I would worry about the smoker, not the smoke residue on cloths. Just don’t let them smoke around your children and supervise if you think that person is high. Weed is the only drug I would say this about BTW. If that person in smoking anything else in their “peace pipe” DONT allow them to hold the child, or even be around the child. This especially includes Meth, which comes out through the skin. Children could DIE if that type of exposure takes place. Might sound extreme, and maybe it doesnt happen frequently, but it is a theoretical risk I would not take

Wow really? How about letting Child Protective Services hold them for the rest of their lives since you don’t care enough to tell your family not to use DRUGS in front of your kids. And while you are at it, open up those books on parenting. They will tell you that secondhand anything can affect young children. So better not to let the dope using family member hang out with your kids.

I dont know what the effects are but I would deff. make them change there shirt & wash there hands before holding my baby.
