What Age Is A Good Age To Introduce Stage 2 Combination Foods To Baby?
I want to add by saying there are no allergies so far, but some of the foods have pasta and tomatoes in them and just wondering if I can introduce those at the start. My baby has been on single ingredient baby foods. Thanks!
A: If you ask the baby food industry they will say once you have tried ALL stage one foods and have been on them for as long as possible. If you ask your baby, your baby will say when ever you want as long as he/she is physiologically ready for solids.
My honest opinion is that baby food and purees are unnecessary for the normal, healthy, happy baby. If a baby is ready for solids (around 6 months) they can have finger foods. Since I believe that, it means that whenever you want to give them is okay. Babies usually don’t have allergic reactions to foods, especially if there isn’t a family history of allergies.
Stage 2 baby foods do have strawberries (like bananas and strawberries) which is a highly allergenic food. Interesting, yes? Watch your baby for sings of readiness for food and follow his/her cues. The baby food industry is probably one of the last sources you want to use for your feeding information.

I first started doing stage one at 3 months of age with my son… Adding the powder to his milk.. Yea they say “oh dont do that” But he loved it and he slept more hours.. Then I switched him over to stage two around 6 months, with every 3-4 months u can add a stage.. Just dont add too many combinations, all at once. you need to leave 4-7 days for a reaction to something new. I did this with my son, added peaches and other fruits.. I had to then take him off everything, cuz something wasnt agreeing with him and I couldnt pin point which fruit it was.. So if u start one thing, wait a few days before adding a new meal option. And good luck – it gets better and easier!
my daughter is 6 months and we started introducing stage 2 foods last week.
at about 6 months or so
