Oatmeal, pasta, really anything squishy that will stay on it mostly and not get her too frustrated with her efforts.

I’d stay away from soup. That’s always a surefire way to get some angry screeches.

Answer by ARMY*WIFE[baby boy on the way]
oatmeal
mac n cheese
grits
pudding
yogurt

anything that wont fall off easily, that has a little bit of stick to it, would be great

Answer by Whoisharperlee
Ready Break (its a cereal)
Or Pasta. Anything that is easy to keep on the spoon
I also used mashed potato meatballs and beans, for little learners

Answer by SoCalGirl
I wouldn’t say it’s a meal, but Yo-baby Yogurt !

Answer by booseyboo
Something that kinda sticks to the spoon like mashed potatoes. That way she doesn’t get frustrated when the food falls off. Jello maybe or pudding. No, it’s not past time to teach her to use a utensil. All kids are different. They learn when they are ready. I can’t think of any more foods. I have a soon to be 1 year old and I am having a hard time remembering what “people food” I started my son out on. Baby Brain is a terrible syndrome!!

Anything really. Kids are so fun(and messy) at that age. It just takes practice no matter what they try to put on their spoon.I truly miss it.

Answer by Super Nanny!
Mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, oatmeal, and yogurt all work well because they stick to the spoon nicely.

i had the same question before. my kid is 19mo old. for snacks she eats cheese, raisins, chopped fruits, dry cereal, yogurt, for foods, pancakes, cream of wheat, cereal, colorful cold pasta(mix w/veggies) just use your imagination, try diferrent things to see what they like.

Snacks ideas :

Celery with peanut butter and raisins
celery with cream cheese and cranberries
apples and cheese
apples and peanut butter
yogurt with fruit and granola
veggies and hummus
smoothies with plain yogurt, fruit and fruit juice
fruit kebabs with yogurt to dip
dried fruit and nuts, seeds
rice cakes
banana’s dipped in yogurt, then coated with granola, slice some strawberries on top and a small dollop of whipped cream. (this can also be a breakfast)

A good idea to get them to eat their veggies is casseroles. One is to cook some ground beef and make a gravy too, whether packaged or not. Mix the beef with the gravy and some peas, corn and carrots (and whatever else you might like to add). Mix it all together and put into a 9 by 13 pyrex casserole dish and then top with mashed potatoes. Brush the mashed potatoes with an egg(whisked) and top with grated cheddar cheese. Put into oven until heated through and they top is golden in color. YUMMY!

My daughter (who is two) loves easy mac, mandarin oranges, hot dogs, carrots, cheez its, a slice of pizza, salad, anything with noodles, cheerios, string cheese, PB&honey or jelly, microwave pancakes, triscuit with meat and cheese on top, yogurt or gogurt, soft pretzel, tortilla chips with shredded cheese melted on top, green beans, Im sure there is more, but thats all I can think of right now!

Answer by My thumb is bigger than yours
Cheese and crackers
cut up avocado
cut up fruit
yogurt
Cheerios

For meals he loves pasta, mac n cheese, or we simply give him leftovers from last night’s dinner (rice, meat , vegetables, etc).

Answer by Bree Van de Kamp
fruit and veggies: cut up celery, carrots, cucumbers, brocolli, of cauliflower with a little bit of dressing. you can also try apples. if you want a softer fruit use kiwi, melon, or oranges. i would avoid cherry tomatos and grapes though because of a choking hazard. if you dont always have fresh veggies you can try using canned fruits and veggies. they work just the same and are usually soft to begin with.

cracker sandwiches: rather than making a full sandwich, for a snack i’ll make little sandwiches using crackers rather than bread. i’ll use either saltines or those round ritz crackers. for pb&j i use 2 saltines (one with peanut butter one with jelly). for the sandwiches with lunch meat i use a round ritz, a piece of cheese, a dot of mustard, and a piece of lunch meat (just enough lunch meat and cheese to fit over the cracker not an entire slice) in that order and leave it like that.

a cup of jello/pudding/yogurt and some fruit.

you could even take a slice of lunch meat and slice of cheese and make “rolls ups”. roll them up and cut them down to smaller pieces.

“cupcakes”: you can make different kinds of breads and pour the mix into cupcake pans. try to get the mini cupcake pans if you can and bake them. try banana or zuccini bread. to kids they look like cupcakes but they’re healthy. you can also use a bit of cream cheese frosint on the top of the banana cupcakes. or try a bit of food coloring.

i feed these different snacks to my brother. one between breakfast and lunch, one between lunch and dinner, and one before bed.
