Q&A–: Need some ideas for a lunch for a toddler?
Ok, well my daughter is 18 months old, and i am still feeding her baby food. I feel like she is way too old for this now, i need some lunch ideas for her. She has a babysitter most days so ideas must be packable but can be refridgerated or microwaved, and hopefully also healthy and not too expensive!
Thanks,
Catherine
thanks for the tip, however my watched her for a couple days and was not aware of that, so we already know she is not alergic to peanut butter

Peanut butter jelly sandwiches..use a cookie cutter and shape them…I use hearts for my daughters…

My daughter is 3 1/2 now, but I’ve always used things like scrambled eggs, instant mashed potatoes, Easy Mac, sandwiches (pb&j, my daughter is finally eating turkey lunchmeat now too), spaghettios, and I send a fruit and/or veggie too. A lot of times I can make something for dinner like the things I mentioned above, and make enough to put some in her lunch the next day. Saves time and feels good to have her lunch ready the night before! For fruits, you can send grapes, banana, or little fruit cups with the pears/peaches, etc. A first veggie I gave my daughter was the frozen winter squash that I heat up in the microwave. Also boiled carrots (the sliced frozen kind). When I first started introducing solid foods, I used the Gerber Garden Mashers (mashed potatoes with veggies), they just need to be heated in the microwave. My daughter loved them, and they are easy to send to the sitter’s, the Gerber entrees too.

Yes, she should almost certainly be 100% on adult foods by now.
By 18 months she can eat pretty much anything you eat.
Yogurt?
A sandwich? (PBJ? Egg/tuna/chicken salad? Low sodium lunch meats?) Those little microwavable cartons of ravioli or stew?
I used to work at a preschool with kids as young as 18 months. The lunches had to be vegetarian or fish. Favorites among the kids were yogurt, hard boiled eggs, string cheese or cheese sandwiches, fruit of all sorts (fresh, or the little prepackaged fruit cups), and (believe it or not) sushi rolls.
Answer by growing inside
Precooked chicken nuggets that can be microwaved along with some cut up fruit or vegetables.
Sandwiches – you can use the precut deli turkey slices for a turkey sandwhich or chicken salad.
Rice and beans -if someone will help her to eat them
mac and cheese

Maybe some fish sticks or peanut butter and jelly or spaghettio’s.

*grilled cheese
*yogurt
*macaroni and cheese
*gerber graduate meals (http://www.gerber.com/toddlersite?tmsdir=food&tmspage=grad_lil.html&tmspromo=2)
***they also have something called Gerber graduates little llunchers which come with a juice too
**The gerber meals are good for transitioning from baby food because the food is soft and just falls apart in the mouth**
and i serve lunch with the small plastic dole fruit cups, my 2 year old neighbor like the peaches, and diced pears best, those are easily transferable.
