Question–: Need help with simple food recipes for Toddler. Does not eat any restaurant food.?
Thank you all for the helpful tips for Disney world. My daughter had a great time! She mumbles “Mickey mouse ” in her sleep now !:-)

The only problem I had was with her food. We eat Indian food at home and every dish needs a lot of preperation. At DW, she was introduced to French fries and she was “OK” with it but kept asking for “real food” ( what we eat at home). I want her to enjoy outside as well and get used to different kinds of food. Can you pls give me simple recipes that I can start introducing her at home so that restaurant food is not a nightmare ? I was thinking chicken tenders and simple pasta in sauce( which I have tried BTW and she dislikes it). Any other suggestions? Pls guide.
Oh I forgot to mention. My daughter loves indian food. We eat a lot of lentil/pulses, rice, well cooked vegetables and meat. I have tried Bread and jelly several times and she does not like it. If she is hungry, she might eat the chicken patty in a burger but no biscuits or bread at restaurants.

That is great! Chicken tenders and fries are unhealthy! But try noodles with a small amount of butter and olive oil and parmasan cheese! It is very tasty try smoothies and PB&J but it is going to be good in the long run she will be very healthy!

Will she eat cheese? If so, try Macaroni & cheese-either from a box or homemade. Try Grilled cheese sandwiches made with American Cheese slices that are the 2% milk fat ones so they are not so full of fat but still have calcium. What about spaghetti? She might like things like that. Overall though, I think you are doing a fine job and she sounds like a healthy eater! I personally love Indian food myself-delicious!

maybe try incorporating a hamburger with your meals.
make your usual side dishes she enjoys, but serve a hamburger instead of her usual meat dish

and then switch it around sometimes, make a typical meat/main course dish and serve french fries with the rice or something

Toddlers, by nature seem to be picky eaters. The best thing to suggest is to keep the foods simple, and seperate. For instance, everyone in my family likes tacos, except the little guy. So when I made tacos one night, I decided to put the foods in their own little spots on his plate. That way he eats the parts he likes, and by looking at what’s left, I can tell what he didn’t (the tomatoes). Now, he eats the whole thing.

Anabel Karmel writes great books about cooking for toddlers, but personally, what I’v always done is given the same food to a toddler as I do for the rest of the family, just maybe less salt.

Answer by hert828
Just serve your toddler the same thing that you are eating for dinner! Go ahead and cut it up into smaller pieces or mash it if you need to.

Parents of small children are never happy when the nightly meal turns into a struggle. They may have cooked for a child who will not eat anything but frozen waffles. Or who won’t allow the vegetable to touch the meat or the meat to touch the rice. Or who won’t try anything new — especially if it’s green. Or worst …
