Today was our last day at Azimio School. We visited classrooms, sang songs and played games with the students at the school. After lunch we went to the Updendo Children’s Home to bring formula and newborn diapers for the babies, spend time playing on their playground with the toddlers and tour their facilities, marveling at how self-sufficient they are with a working farm and vegetable garden.

Here are a couple of things I have found helpful:
Teacher Resource Book:
The Complete Toddler Curriculum by Pam Schiller
Website: Preschool Express (by Jean Warren)
For August, how about using sand and umbrellas as a theme? The little ones love the feel of things, and you could put sand in a dishpan for them to run their fingers through. They could also “decorate” a picture with sand (or colored sand) by putting glue down first, then having them put sand on the glue. Decorate an umbrella shape with colored sand, or tissue paper cut into little squares.

Aug to me is back to school. You could do school buses. Put up letters, shapes and colors to for the month of Aug. If ya have a small toy school bus, let the children roll the wheels in paint and then roll the wheels on a piece of paper.
