i am asking because it seems like ruby really prefers everything cold. not at all warm. and of course there is some weird traditional belief in me that warm food is supposed to taste better to babies — remember those old baby food warmer plates? anyway, when she was on formula, she only drank it room temp or cooler, and now, with solids, it seems she prefers even her mac and cheese after it has been in the refrigerator and not heated. we are currently engaged in trying to fatten her up per doc’s orders, so i am catering to every preference i can suss out (like i didn’t do that already anyway). so, is it common for kids to prefer cool/cold food?? also, an add on, does anyone else have a kid who flat out refuses all milk products? she won’t drink milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, milkshakes, yogurt. she eats cheese, but that’s it. anyone else? is your baby skinnier than the norm as a result?
rosie: ruby never, in her whole life, drank more than 5 oz. and she never took more than 3 oz until she was about 9 months old. she refused all solids except cheerios and toast until 11 months. i feel you. she is 15 months and…wait for it..18.5 pounds. if i let her, she would eat nothing but diced tomatoes, grapes, pirates booty, and soy nuggets.

stroller straps–: What is the best way to keep a baby warm in the stroller during winter months?
Our daughter is just over a year old. We live downtown and like to go on walks all winter. The winter coat we have for her was too big or too restrictive, she cries when she is in it. In addition, when in her coat the straps on her stroller hardly fit around her. What is the best solution for a baby during the cold months. I tried to find a different coat and am considering the JJ Cole Bundle Me Toddler. Which bundle me is best?

Is It Better For An Infant To Be Too Cool Or Too Warm?

5 January 2010

They say that your baby should wear one layer of clothes more then yourself, but my baby always seems to be to hot!
I worry that he may get too cool as he really only seems to be comfortable when naked (sans diaper).
But if i put a top on him, I worry about him overheating.
So is it better for him to be potentially too warm in a singlet or too cool without one on?
