Question: What are some good toys for cats that they can play with without me having to manipulate them?

My bf and I have two cats (one is not quite an adult). We’re both full time college students and have lots of other activities going on so we’re not home much. I buy my cats tons of toys but a lot of them they won’t or can’t play with unless I am manipulating them. Aside from that toy where the ball rolls around in a circle (I have that), what are some toys the cats could play with and not need humans to help with? I try to play with them as much as I can, but a lot of times I just cuddle and pet them rather than play.

Question: How do you ask a toddler if they are having nightmares?

My two year old really hates bedtime. Naptime, whatever, if she has to lay down in her bed and try to sleep she gets really upset. Her room is done in pink princess stuff, there are pictures of her family everywhere, and there’s a canopy over her bed. I can’t think of anything right off the top that would be scaring her. She fusses before she sleeps and I have gotten used to that but the past few days she has been waking up pale and sweating. She screams and screams and won’t stop until she lays with me or her Dad. It really seems to me like she is having bad dreams. What would cause bad dreams in a toddler? She is really terrified when she wakes up and it takes 15-20 minutes just to stop the tears. It’s heart breaking. I ask her if she is having bad dreams or nightmares and she doesn’t answer-I don’t think she understands. Lately she has been talking about ‘dreams’ and I think it’s this Goodnight Moon video I got her, but there’s just a few minutes of kids talking about flying dreams and stuff like that. No nightmares. Please help.. I feel so bad for her.
I think putting a ‘guardian’ in her room is an excellent idea. I asked her why she was crying/upset, and she wouldn’t talk to me… very unlike her.

Why is it that the law requires people to take parenting classes before they become a foster parent, but..
When a couple is expecting a biological child, the law doesn’t require them to take any classes.

That sounds one-sided to me; shouldn’t all soon-to-be-parents be held to the same standards?
Why are temporary parents required to do stuff that permanent parents dont have to do?
I would think that permanent parents should have higher standards.

Q&A: Why do they put allergenic foods in baby food?

I am trying to keep allergenic foods away from my 7 month old daughter, as I’ve read there are many foods she shouldn’t have until her first birthday. Why then do baby food companies put strawberries, egg whites, citrus, and milk products in baby foods if babies aren’t supposed to eat them?

What age did you start your baby on the 1st age baby food? My son is almost (in a few days) 5 months old (I know its a little early but he eats so much formula, I thought I might try and see how he takes it, and maybe supplement a bottle or two with the baby food) and I’ve started giving it to him, and he was doing really well until I gave him carrots. I think that may have constipated him. So when did you start feeding your baby the 1st age baby foods, and what foods did they like or dislike, or had negative reactions to?

Question: When Babies eat organic baby food when they grow up, Do they have to keep eating organic foods?

My baby is 4 months old. My husband accidentally bought organic baby food(applesauce) and she LOVED it! BUT a couple of my friends say if she eats organic foods as a baby she will have to keep eating it when she grows up.

My son hasnt had any I just want to see which are most likely to cause allergies. Thanks!

I buy my 8-month-old daughter clothes that is for 12-18 month old clothes because she’s 21 pounds and is 27 inches long. By the time she was 2 months, I brought her 3-6 month old clothes and by 4 months, 6-9 months. I buy clothes from Target, Wal-Mart, and Burlington Coat Factory in the Baby Depot section (cute stuff there!) and they have tags that says weight and height. What do you guys think?
