Question: Should the sponsor stay and live in the US while parents are getting their green cards ?

Hello,

I am a US citizen but my parents are not(I had the citizenship after I was born in the US).

I am almost 20 years old living in the US, my parents are here too but they are under L1 and L2 visas( sponsorship, business visa ). When I’ll turn 21, my parents will be eligible for the green card(means they want to switch from visa to green card).. All their immigration requirements are met, the only problem, a few months after I turn 21, I will have to go to overseas because I want to work and live there.

Is it obligatory that the sponsor stays in the US untill his parents get the green card.

PS: Chances are I will come back to the US but after I have worked overseas for a few years.

Question: Toddler tiny — what should I ask the doctor to check?

Hi. My one year old son is quite a bit smaller than his playmates (probably 20% height, 70% weight). But his father is 6′ 5″, and I’m about 5′5, so I thought he would be at least average. My son has also had ear infections constantly from 6mo old to 1 year, which is why we put tubes in 2 weeks ago (all’s fine with them, thankfully!). Could all the antibiotics and Motrin + constant pain from the infections impacted his growth?

We have his one year dr appt today. Are there any tests I should have them run? Or questions I should ask? Is there a specialist we should see? We didn’t get good feedback on the ear infections until we went to a specialist ENT…

Thanks in a advance.
My son is a very good eater & will eat most anything. His weight is fine, it’s his height that’s below average.

They have a large wheel but they never use it or climb on it, it takes alot of room you think I should take it out or keep it.

How should I respond when very young children ask my toddler daughters (and me!) why we are black?

Q&A: How should I respond when very young children ask my toddler daughters (and me!) why we are black?

I have three daughters (ages 1, 2, and 3) and we live in a predominately white community. Lately, my oldest daughter’s preschool and dance class peers have been asking, “Why are you so black”? Then they ask me the same thing. I’m so irritated that in the year 2007 parents are still not teaching their children about diversity. I don’t know how to respond, partly because I’m annoyed and I don’t feel like giving mini-diversity or -religion lessons everywhere we go. Any suggestions?
