Q&A: How much cereal or baby food should my six month old baby be eating?

I just recently got my baby to start eating cereal. She used to keep spitting it out. She still will not eat baby food. I’m worried that she is too dependant on formula. How do I correct this and how do I ensure she is getting enough food and nutrition? How much baby food and cereal should she be eating at six months of age? Any advice is appreciated.

What’s A Good Educational Gift For 18 Month Old?

17 May 2010

I didn’t know if there were any ideal educational toys that I could get an 18 month old. He’s pretty busy and doesn’t have a huge attention span but is showing some interest in shapes and stuff.
Can you give me some gift ideas?

I’ve Got About A Month To Go…silly Question About Preparing The Clothes For The Baby…?

6 February 2010

I know this is silly, but it’s been a while since I’ve had a newborn infant in the home. I know they can be senstive to dusts and things needs to be fairly clean. Also the clothes need to be washed after being bought or course even when given and passed down w/ baby detergent b/c sometimes thier skin is sensitive to harsher detergents. I’ve washed up everything I have so far, to get it out of the way and ready but am not due till April 4th…which is 4-5 weeks away…is this too early? Do you think I should wash again in a few weeks just to keep things fresh and dust free?? Silly I know….but what would you all do?

Good Foods For 9 Month Old Baby?

My nephew has 3 teeth and (since he refuses to eat baby food) doesn’t have a large selection of foods to eat. What is good, fairly soft food we can try? We’ve done mashed potatoes, rice, etc. Any suggestions for something new that might interest him?

Is It Ok To Feed My 3 Month Old Stage 1 Baby Foods?

4 January 2010

My daughter is 3 months old, and wants to eat all the time!!! She eats every 2 hours during the day and night. I don’t mind it so much during the day but, at night I don’t get much sleep. I am still breastfeeding and will continue to do so for a few more months. I don’t want to rush into feeding her solids but I don’t know what else to do. If any of you out there have any suggestions please pass them along.

How Long Should I Let My 5 Month Old Baby Get Used To Rice Cereal Before I Start Him On Other Baby Foods?

28 December 2009

I am a parent of 2 children. Both Under the age of 4, so I’m still fresh… And once I let me children have rice cereal I made sure they had no reaction within the first couple of days. If they don’t have any reaction by that time and once it is digested and found its way back out of their system again they should be fine. The KEY to remember is that when you start a baby on any new “food” you should do it in the VERY beginning of the day. That way if it bothers them you can keep an eye on it all day long. There is nothing worse than having a child sick during the night. Just some mommy advice :)
