my son is 6mths also and i notice he has very good memory. he remembers songs that i switch up on him daily. when i start sing a song and he looks and gives me a big smile i know he remembers it so if he has memory he can learn..i say start sing the ABCs and do some clapping singing number 1-10. even make a song out of the babies name so you can start with these three things to get his memory going.

Take some time and Read to him 15 min a day and play with toys with him.

Eye contact, play, talk. Talk, talk, talk. Play, play, play. Play peekaboo, talk to baby as you go about your day, and sing (quality doesn’t matter!) Play good music on the stereo — classical and young kid’s music. And read to baby daily.

Do NOT stress over “baby academics”! It’s all bullshit. Don’t do flashcards, don’t do baby einstein, don’t do hothousing. None of it improves educational outcomes, but it does increase stress and pressure. And stay away from tv until at least age 2 — it’s bad for their brains, even “baby einstein” type stuff.
