Q&A: What homemade toys can I make for my cat?
I want to make christmass presents for my cat because I love him so much but I know that he loves homemade toys more than toys from the store so any ideas would be great! Thanks! Merry Christmas!

Get a piece of dowel rod and a Christmas bell or a small stuffed toy and tie the toy to a string. Tie the string to the dowel rod. Then you can play with your cat by dangling the toy or dragging it along the floor for him to chase. When you don’t have time to play with him, you can stick the dowel rod in something where the toy will dangle by itself so he can “attack” it. You might also want to sew him a soft warm pillow out of an old tee shirt or something of yours that will smell like you for him to lay on when you’re not around.

My cat’s favorite toy is a pair of shoe laces tied together.
She drags it around the house all day. If you throw it she will bring it back. (the only cat I have ever seen that wil play fetch).

Just about every cat I have ever known LOVES the rings off of plastic gallons (milk, water, etc.)
Also, what about a small branch with a long ribbon/string tied to it with feathers or something tired to the other end of the sting? maybe more strips of sting. (Make sure none of the parts come loose.)

Do you know what a hackey sack is? Little cloth baseball filled with beans or beads and kicked around by humans for fun? Sew together a hackey sack out of a type of material that will hold up to some intense cat slapping but pack it with catnip instead of beans/beads. Trust me, your puddy tat will straight FREAK out over it.
Merry X-mas to you too.

We took a sock and put catnip in it and tied the end and my cat still drags that thing around after 2 years

My cats love to play with the caps off from a gallon of milk. The only problem is you don’t want to step on them in the middle of the night!

be careful with the homemade toys. my cat loves them too.. but some can be dangerous.. my cat used to love playing with simple hair ties, but he got one caught on his foot and he almost had to have his leg ampuated.. the vet told us to stay away from hairties, rubber bands, milk cartton rings.. and twist ties.. but their are still alot of things u can use..
my cats favorite toy is a balled up piece of paper.. make sure its big enough they cant swollow it.. but they love the crinkly sound it makes.. u can make it more exciting by placing a treat inside or sprinkle some cat nip over it.
also, my cats love grocery bags1 paper would be safer, but our cats love plastic, and if someones watching them they can play in them.. just toss the opened bag up in the air and they love to pounce into the bag.. u can make that more exciting by decorating it. to once again. sprinkliing some cat nip inside
and heres and easy one that i just recently found out that my cat loves! the garland for a tree *im pretty sure i mispelled that* i was puttin it around the tree and he just fell in love iwth it,.. digging in it.. dragging it around.. he loved it
hope that helped

I like to get ping pongs and put a small hole in it to fill with catnip. Also panty hose is great to put catnip in and make a small ball or snake just tie the end of it off.
