At that age buying a bunch of gifts is really silly. Just get him things he needs and one toy. If he is turning over, get him a toy that makes noise and has lights and will encourage him to crawl toward it.

I wouldn’t go over the age limit of six months. Is he teething? My kids always like those material books that sounded like there was some kind of paper inside them and they had hard plastic on the edges for them to chew on. Is he lifting his head? Can he pay attention for a little bit? If so, maybe an aquamat. It’s just a mat you fill with water and there’s stuff that floats around on the inside. He just has to be supervised. Anyway. I’m sure you’ll find what’s best for him.

Honestly I would go for toys alittle bit older. Probably more like 6 month old toys. Get him a few little things for now, unless he’s already got plenty. At 6 months they are when they really start exploring things more. They’ll be alot more useful to him at 6 months. Now, my son is 5 months, and he is just now starting to really show intrest in toys. He did before, but now its longer periods of time and alot more intrested. He’ll be 6 months Christmas Day, so I’m pretty excited!!!

Q&A–: When will my baby start reaching for toys and holding them?
She is exactly 3 months old and she still doesn’t try to reach and hold toys. She just stares at them. She does however like to have her hands in her mouth but she won’t hold and reach for toys!
Was this supposed to happen by now?

My baby kinda started around 3 months, but I think it was more of an involuntary thing.. she is 3 1/2 months and is starting to show more interest in toys.
Her fingers are still her favorite toys too!
She does have a plastic duck at my parents house that she likes to stare at and babble to.. she doesnt try to reach for the duck, just likes to talk to him.
Answer by Im awesome & that pisses you off
she will do it soon.
dont worry so much. probably in the next week or 2 she’ll surprise you and reach for a toy.
my son started at around 3 1/2 months.
babies put their hands n their mouths. its normal. my son will be 18 months next week and still puts his hands in his mouth.
you seem like a stressed first time mom. try to relax. she will do things when she is ready to. just enjoy her. before you know it she will be crawling and walking and getting into everything.

My baby will be 3 months old in a couple days and she is really into her hands as well!! she doesn’t seem to care about toys yet and if I put a toy in her hand she will shake it (don’t really think she realizes she is shaking it just moving her arms) and then will drop it lol… I bet it will happen within a month or so…
Good luck and your LO is cute!
