I will not have my son play with girl toys.
I don’t really think it will affect his development or anything but it’s kind of a pact between all men that we will never ever let our sons play with girlie toys and will do all we can to stop it.

When your little you don’t tend to notice what sex toys are. I mean, a toy is a toy right? Just because he is playing with it doesn’t mean he is going to turn out to be a homosexual who likes to cross dress and whatever, and even if he is that’s his choice and as a parent your job is to back him up.

It’s alright if your son wants to play with girl toys; If you have noticed girls toys (dolls, strollers, cooking) lets the child recreate and live what he sees his parents and other adults do. It helps them become responsible. And a stroller is fun to push, just like a car is. It’s just toys, not make-up! And your soon will soon get over it as he’s older if you really are concerned. Let him have fun, he’s just a kid,

My son plays with his sisters toys all the time. I would prefer he plays with boys toys, but I would never stop him from playing with girls toys and would never say anything to him about it either. And if my son wanted a pink bike for his birthday or something like that then I would not be opposed to getting him that.
I actually just heard a story on NPR about his very think. A 3 year old’s favorite color was pink. He wanted everything pink. For his birthday he asked for a pink bike. His dad thought about it for a while and decided he would get the pink bike for his son. The day of his party rolls around and the dad is worried because all the kids friends are over and they all have their black bikes and blue bikes and he is scared that his son is going to be made fun of when his friends see his pink bike. What ended up happening when his friends saw his new pink bike is that they all wanted pink bikes after that.

Children play with what’s around them. If he doesn’t see it, he won’t miss it. Ask your friend to hide the girl toys before you go over.

of course i would. at this early, children see no distinction between gender (psychologically that begins around 5). He’s just having fun. A dolly isnt going to change anything about his mental makeup. If he’s still doing it when he’s older, this did not cause anything. It was just a signal.

Pink stroller.
What makes that so girly anyway? Men use strollers too, and who cares about the colour? Your son is not thinking any different to a girl at his age. And it’s a lot better than having him screaming.

tell your husband to stop being a jerk and to let your son play with whatever he wants to as long as he is happy and not getting hurt. no harm ever came from a little boy playing with girls toys. to think otherwise is just silly. a boy playing with a girls toys is not going to make him gay anymore than a girl playing with tonka trucks is gonna make her butch.
