the best thing to puree would be chicken boil it and puree it or i guess if u wanted u could boil steak and pork chops
Answer by dances_with_unicorns1955
Put the food in a blender; you can use a bit of broth for the meat. If that doesn’t work, you may need to get a food grinder to get the meat down to finer granules.

with meat its best to cook it for a long time like in a stew before pureeing so it comes apart easily. However pureed meat isn’t that nice as a general rule you might be better buying things like chicken soup rather than making it yourself

Unfortunately there is very little information out there on how exactly to puree food. For people with Epidermolysis Bullosa and other disorders that cause swallowing or chewing problems, a soft or pureed diet is a lifelong battle. This is unlike most situations where people are only on a pureed diet for a few days or weeks due to surgery or illness. So it is important to find a wide range of healthy and tasty foods that you can survive on happily.
For those with Epidermolysis Bullosa:
Even if you can eat fairly well most days it helps to know how to puree food for the days you may have a sore, stricture or blister in your esophagus. Pureed food usually goes down with less pain then textured food.

If you have the time, it’s great for your baby to make his food at home. You may not even need to puree the foods, just mash them up a bit. Bananas and avocados are the easiest to do, peel and mash until the texture is good for your little one.
I like this site, nttp://www.wholesomebabyfood.com (lots of info) and this one too nttp://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com (good info but very cluttered and lots of ads)
We did some purees but moving on to just mashing and smooshing now. Those sites are helpful but of course your doctor should be the one that you get the final recommendations from!

You may start him on age-appropriate fruits and veggies anytime you would like. Some of the more gently ones include: pears, apples, banana, avocado, peas, green beans, squash, and sweet potato. Many people choose to skip cereal and move straight to these, and they are all fine for a younger baby because they have a low allergy risk, aren’t acidic, and are gentle on the tummy. We moved did pears after just a week because they help with constipation, and by then DD needed it, lol! Its a myth that you need to do veggies first – breast milk and formula are already very sweet so fruits won’t contribute anymore towards a “sweet tooth”. (my personal experience also found this to be true).
With meats, most drs in the US recommend that you wait until 8-10 months. They are harder to digest and process. However, I was reading recently that in Europe most drs consider meats a good first food, since they are so high in natural iron and other nutrients. So I guess it depends on who you ask.
One resource I really like is nttp://www.wholesomebabyfood.com They have age-based recommendation charts, plus if you look on the individual pages you can find out _why_ they make those recommendations, which is nice to know amid all the conflicting advice out there. They also have lots of info on how to make/freeze your own food, if you want to.
You are welcome to puree your own food at home if you would like! Many people consider this better because you know exactly what is in the food (though honestly I think the baby food jar companies are pretty careful about that too!!). Its really pretty easy to make your own – just cook a batch by either steaming or baking (to retain the most nutrients, as opposed to boiling) and then puree it in a blender or food processor. Under 8 months, some people recommend you gently steam even ripe, soft fruits (other than banana and avocado). You are only supposed to store the puree in the fridge for 72 hours, but it is very easy to freeze using ice cube trays, and you can store it in freezer bags for 1 (best) – 3 months. Then you just pop a few cubes out when you need them! You can start with fresh or frozen fruits and veggies, depending on what is available. Canned have too many preservatives, salt, etc, but frozen can be very good, as the food was usually frozen at its perfect stage of ripeness.

you can make your own baby food:) i found this much cheaper but i always bought in some jars for variation not alot though or for whn i was going out.
brocolli, sweet potatoe, squash, cauliflower, apple, pear, avacado, peas(i used to squish mine through a seive to get rid of the skins) carrots are all good starters. but wait a few days between trying new ones for reactions:)
i used to make batches and pop the food into ice cube trays and feeze them:) if that helps!
chicken and meats i personally would leave until six months when they have the hang of a more lumpier texture and are able to chew more efficiently but you know what you baby can handle more then me so if you want to have a bash at that then i dont see why not, i personally would wait until hes got the hang of all teh new fruits and veggies. good luck:)

I started my daughter on solids when she was 6 to 7 months old,but the only problem was she didn’t eat the baby food a whole lot because her aunt fed her people food and that pretty much threw my daughter off with her baby food. But yeah I think 6 to 7 months would be best.
