you can’t force a baby to be smart, they are what they are. But use correct toys for their developmental age. Like if they are 5 months use the 3-6 months toys and work with em. Once they start talking can you really help them. Also when walking around the house point out things. Like look baby, a blue cup or whatever is around them.

human interaction, opening their world to opportunities and allowing them to explore and flourish will make a child have more potential in life. They say a child learns more from playing with blocks then with a toy with lights and sounds and structured play. Like the old saying goes, you can give a man a fish or you can teach him how to fish.

Ok, well my 2YO niece is more like a 10YO sometimes. What your best off doing is allowing your baby to spwnd as much time around adults possible. Don’t speak to her like a child, but more like an adult. Allow your child to make some decisions for herself. Encourage your child to ask questions and if he/she shows an interest in things that your doing allow her to help out (even if its just pretend helping e.g vacuum the floor and allow him/her to have a go after you OR when moving rooms with vac allow him/her to carry the lightest part of vac). Encourage him/her with her play. Ask questions about your child’s playtime (e.g You dressed Barbie very nice. Where is she going?)
Allow your child to draw and again ask questions (i like the colours that you used, and point things out and ask your child to explain the drawing). You could also teach your child colours and things using jellybeans. My mother-in-law did that and we would all go to sizzler and my niece (who was 18months) would sit there with a bowl of jellybeans telling us what each colour was (that was after taking the black ones out because she didn’t like them!)

Intelligence is genetic. You can stimulate your child to reach his or her full potential by providing plenty of age-appropriate toys, avoiding “baby talk” (ie. talk to them the same as you would any other person), and spend much time interacting with them. Infants can be taught sign language as young as 4 months to help them better communicate, as well. By the way, just because your child might not have a high IQ, or because they may not learn “normally”, does not mean they’re not “smart”. My husband is considered to be of low intelligence, but he’s smarter than I am regarding many things. He has “street smarts”, while I have “book smarts”, and can be very ditzy sometimes.

I saw this ad on tv for this program that would teach your baby to read. I sounded interesting but I have not tried it. It’s called your baby can read. In the ad it did not state how much the program cost. They showed these home videos where they would hold a card up that said arms up and the baby would put there arms up, or a card that said kick and they would kick. Try if you like.

DON’T talk “baby talk” to your baby….
Talk like you normally talk to other people with your baby. Tell your baby what you’re doing, while you’re doing it like when you’re cleaning house. Always point out things that you see when driving and tell your baby what it does, what sounds it makes, ANYTHING…. It stimulates their brain.
Use educational games and if your baby wants to watch TV, make sure they are educational.
Teach sign language to your baby, and when it becomes a toddler, introduce them to other languages.
good luck.

no toys really help its you that is the positive influence, read to them everyday and talk to them, my daughter seems smart and is talking a lot because i talked to her in real conversations from the day she was born. I told her things she didnt understand but its the fact you are talking to them. Count and do things educational with them, you can rely on toys to take over what you are to do as a parent.
