Q&A: Do you think Empire waist or Baby doll dresses are flattering?
I have a little black dress that fits me great (hugs my upper body and bust) but has the draping in the front below the bust. I am slim so i am not trying to cover anything. So I guess my question is does this style suit slim women?

I love babydolls but I think they look better on chunkier women. On thin girls I think babydoll and empire tend to make them look like they are pregnant.

definitely…i think they’d suit almost anyone..just make sure u get the right size of course…

these types of tops are more for heavier ppl, but whats cute for slimmer is wearing a babydoll that flows down above the bust and wearing a thin belt at the belly button. yah, i wear babydolls like wht ur talking about and ppl compliment me…

They are in, obviously. But me personally, being a tall string bean, I feel like I look pregnant in them.

Yes, the slimmer the better because if you’re bigger the baby doll tends to make you look pregnant.

Depends on your body type…sometimes it makes you look pregnant.
The dress you’re describing sounds fine though.

Casey, I don’t like the look on anyone. I’ve seen all shapes and sizes wearing them and I think they all look ridiculous. Who came up with this fashion anyway. And if you are slim, which you stated you were, you will look like you have something to hide. If you think looking pregnant is fashionable – go for it.
I think you think just like me. Toss it!

I think it suits all types of bodies of women…Like take Halle Berry for an example, she’s pregnant, and when she goes to premiers, she wears empire waist dresses.
I love them, they’re soo elegant, and they can wore out for a casual dinner or a formal dinner.

I do not like the empire waist, but if anyone can pull it off it is a slim woman. I generally like the waist accentuated and at its natural position. If you are a slim woman then you would be far more flattered by showing off your natural waist.
