Q&A: Can I give my parents a green card?

I’m currently 17 years old right now and I was born in the U.S. My parents don’t have a green card and I would really like to give them one. I know that the law a while back had changed to the legal age that I could give them one was 21 well one of my friends the other day said that she heard that it changed back to 18. I would really like to know if this is true and if you have any information on it?

It’s 21 years of age.

Also, if your parents came to USA illegally without a visa and not protected under 245i – you will not be able to help them even when you are 21.

The age is 21. You will have to prove you can support them. Of course,if they are here illegally, there is nothing you can do for them. They cannot get a green card while they are in the country illegally.

Answer by Sarah
