It depends, if you are breastfeeding, it costs a lot less then when you have to buy food! And nappies the same actually. In the beginning I’d use about 10 nappies a day, but now at 5 months I use about 6 to 7 nappies a day.
All depends on the brand you choose!

depends on if you are breastfeeding, formula cost about -30 a week US and then diapers for a newborn are about a week also,

We use cloth. Despite the initial investment (less if you buy on e-bay) and slightly inconvenient extra laundry, it will save you at least 50% on your first baby. The great part is that you can resell the diapers, or save them for your next, so that the cost the 2nd time around is nearly non-existant.

I would estimeate around for formula and diapers in VA.
I use Similac and huggies suppremes. This is for one week.

I buy the cheap diapers, which cost about 6 dollars a pack and formula which is anywhere from 12- 23 dollars a can depending on whether you buy brand name or not.
About 2 packs of diapers a week and a can of formula a week, so about 40 dollars a week? If you’re breastfeeding, it’s free!!

baby nappies–: Why children nappies are sold by weight of a baby rather than age ?
Generally when you go to shop for nappies for your baby you will notice that you need to pick up the one according to the weight of your baby irrespective of how old he/she is. Why is that so?

So you get the right size around the legs and the waist. Not all babies are the same size at the same age.

Because babies grow at different rates. Some babies are quite big, and some are small for their ages. It is easier to get the appropriate fit when it is done by weight. For example both myself and my sister in law have baby boys. Hers is only 2 weeks older than mine. My baby is upwards of 25 pounds, while hers is only 16 pounds. So, even thought they are close in age, they do not wear the same size diaper.

Because some babies weigh 5 pounds the day they are born, and some babies weigh 10 pounds! It just wouldn’t work by age, you see.

Babies grow at different stages, No one baby is the same. You must have noticed that some babies are born at 6 lbs and some at 8lbs. And some gain weight much faster than others?

Umm, because not every 2yr. old, for example, is the same size. So it makes more sense to have them by weight. My daughter is small for her age, so she’s obviously not gonna take the same size diaper as other kids her age. Anyway, you generally ignore the weight label and just buy what fits anyway, as long as you are staying with the same brand.

my youngest daughter wore size 4 diapers when she was potty trained (she was almost 3) my 6 month old wears taht size now…….age would never work.
