All the baby showers I have ever been to, we’ve only had little things. Like cookies or cupcakes or cake…things like that.

Appetizers & Finger Food..

Chips and Dips – Serve spinach dip, salsa, guacamole, onion dip, or hot artichoke dip with tortilla chips or pita bread cut into small triangles. .

Cheese and Crackers – Serve a variety of crackers along with two or more cheeses.

Chicken (Teriyaki or Sate) – Serve on skewers with teriyaki or peanut sauce.

Baby Shrimp – Serve with cocktail sauce.

Chicken Wings – Especially popular with the men at couples showers, served with ranch dressing!

Meat Balls – Another strong performer, especially at couples showers, make sure to serve the small variety.

Mini Pizzas – Everyone loves pizza, so when they’re small enough to pop in your mouth, they go fast.

The MAIN DISH..

It really depends on the time of day the babyshower will take place..if its morning/afternoon the you would need a brunch, like an eggbake, rolls, donuts, and fruit. If it is after lunch Chicken is a popular food to make because it can fit in with the theme, and you can make pretty much anything out of chicken, and everyone enjoys it! For diner I’d say something like Lasaga, or Fettitune like chicken…and you need to worry more about the appetizers, having a lot of finger foods is very important!

Food processors come in very handy at his age. Whatever you are having for dinner and I wouldn’t make it too spicy can be ground up slightly for the kid to eat. It doesn’t have to be pureed just a little food processor action. Kids love scrambled eggs, oatmeal, farina, cheerios soaked in milk, soft fruits and veggies. Lunch can be pasta, little pieces of turkey or rollups, cheese etc. Dinner should be what you have but in really small pieces. I hope she is feeding herself, if not start now in a high chair. It’s messy but necessary.

If my baby will eat anything off the table it’s seasoned just the same. She doesn’t get anything that’s super salty (salted ham for ex. or anything including that ingredient).

Breakfast:
Pancake
Strawberry poptart (she loves to steal her brother’s!)
Eggs
Toast
Baby cereal

Lunch is:
Fruit cup most times for lunch and/or anything left over from the day before.

Supper: She gets whatever we eat that night including…

Any kind of beans.
Chopped and mashed meat
Potatoes
Bread
Spaghetti
Almost always gets a dessert baby food cup.
I try to always include a veggie or two for supper.

Snack includes a biter biscuit or baby cookie with half cup of juice.

Breakfast is at 8.
Snack is at 10.
Lunch is at 12.
Nap at 1.
Snack at 3.
Supper usually runs around 5 or 6.
Bed at 7.

Breakfast-scrambled eggs and toast with a little butter cut toast or break small. You could also just give her cheerios or waffles with no syrup.

Lunch-chicken nuggets french fries,or pastina with butter small cooked chopped carrots or peas avoid corn.

Dinner-baked chicken breast pork chops rice or mashed potatoes avoid corn as a veg because of casing and you could give her again peas or carrotts.Avoid any tough meats like steak avoid hot dogs bc chocking hazard just make sure everything is cut small and then untill she learns to self feed you feed it to her.She could also do ziti or elbows pasta but not spagetti or fetucini noodle any long noodles may cause choking.Chef boyardi is a nice change of for ravoli and beeferoni etc

Just because she is a baby don’t mean you have to cook a totally separate meal, she can chew lots of things now. For breakfast, you could give her biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, toast and jelly. For the other meals, Mashed Potatoes, You could make a meatloaf, and just make sure you cut it into little bites for her. Anything you give her, just cut it up to where she can munch on it. If she don’t like green vegies, you could put melted cheese over it, like pea’s or something. She can even eat a steak if you cut it up to where she can handle it. Good Luck and hope this helps.

There’s almost nothing that you can eat but she can’t now – basically only very spicy or salty food. Your baby does not need a special menu and it is far more healthy for you to all eat the same food. If she can’t eat yours because you add salt, then stop adding salt. It’s better for all of you. If you don’t eat enough veggies, then start eating more. Long term, you cannot expect your child to eat a healthy diet if you won’t.

You could try seasoning your child’s food lightly but don’t over-do it. Toddlers tend to stay away from spicy foods. It’s also healthier to give them food that is not highly seasoned and give them an option of dip or sauce.
