You do not need a recipe book. Just cook vegetables, meat, some herbs together slowly then liquidise them. Ensure you do not add any salt until he is older as babies bodies cannot cope with it. Stew some fruit in a little water and whizz that up too. My grandson loves all the things I cook, you can do pasta and vegetable, pasta and rice, if you make it all fresh it will be very nutritious. I would hope, you yourself are eating wholesomely, therefore all you have to do it throw into the blender what your having for supper, minus the salt! Don’t forget babies salad (of course minus the dressing).

fix the same food you eat without the salt sugar and spices then put in food processor

I always fed my babies what we were having for dinner. Put the food in a blender to puree and viola you have freshly cooked baby dinner without the preservatives or salt. I raised two healthy children without the benefit of Gerber.

Question–: Does anyone know of any good baby development books?
I am going to be a mom for the first time. I am looking for a book that has things in it that new mothers should know.
I am particularly looking for a book telling me what my child should/ will be doing each month.
IE: Like when they start to walk, and eat baby food and solid foods, when they stand w/o help, crawl, grab, etc….
If anyone knows of any good books and possibly the site or store please let me know. I would appriciate it very much.

You know the book “What to expect When You’re Expecting?”, the same author has one exactly as you describe that I find to be wonderful. It’s called, “What To Expect In The First Year”. It goes over milestones, sicknesses, and a lot of general knowledge of little babies. (growth charts, acceptable foods, sleeping patterns, colic…..the list goes on)

The is the “what to expect the first year” written by the same authors that did the famous what to expect when your expecting.
I really liked “the happiest baby on the block”. written by a dr, who also wrote “happiest toddler on the block”. The happiest baby etc really helped us know how to comfort our baby. Our babies non-stop crying became absolutely no crying within 1 week of doing what this book reccomended which is to mimic the womb for your newborn 24/7 for as long as they need until they are secure and confident to be more independent. Anyways, more info than you asked for, but helpful I hope.
Also the video dunstan baby language, it just helps you understand your baby.

Elizabeth’s Mommy is right! I used the “What to Expect when you’re Expecting” and “What to Expect the First Year” and ” What to Expect the Toddler Years” and I found all of these books to be invaluable! Being a new mom (now I have my third!) I had no idea what to expect with my first child. They tell you EVERYTHING. I tried other books, and they just didn’t tell me everything I wanted to know.
