Thinking back to the few developmental psych courses I took in college, I remember motor skills tests: putting square pegs into square holes, letting a marble roll off the table to see if Baby will look for it.
Maybe that’s why you got such an underwhelming response from the Toddler section; God already smote the carp out of them.

If you are looking to test because you suspect your child is above average, then don’t bother. Just keep encouraging your child’s talents and keep him or her stimulated with lots of varying activities (including physical). If you suspect below average then you should consider not testing for IQ but for specific developmental problems. IQ test scores in themselves are mostly meaningless.

WPPSI-R, K-ABC, and the Stanford Binet L-M and Stanford-Binet Fourth Edition are designed and normed for use with preschool children. Toddlers can be tested, but a tested age of four to five years will be a better indicator of the results.

That’s never a good idea.
I don’t know what’s involved. My pre-schooler goes through a battery of tests every single year because she is in the early education program in the public school system and it changes every year but it’s lots of sequencing, vocabulary, fine and gross motor skills, and puzzle type stuff – but they are supposedly testing her all to see if her problems with articulation are bad enough to continue on in the program. However…. I’m betting that a toddler IQ test (which I admit I have never heard of) is pretty similar because I don’t know any other way you would test a toddler’s intelligence.
BQ: their spending time in the toddler section is punishment enough.

Batty… OLSAT is what they used to test my Li’l Schmecky. It’s about the only thing with any validity for testing tiny tots.
