Parents Or Teachers Play An Important Role In A Child’s Education?

I’m having a debate for tomorrow and i need to prove that parents are mainly responsible than teachers in a child’s academic success. I need to prove this point with vital facts and give reasons suggesting why parents are more important than teachers in a child’s education. so got any ideas?
P.S; i agree that teachers also have an equal influence.

Say the motivation of the parents depends. If the child has homework the parents need to motivate them to make them do it. The parents feed the child so if they eat breakfast the kid will be alert and will be motivated. The parents know knowledge as well as the teachers. The parents will have all kinds of books on their shelves whch can teach different things also you’ve got the t.v and internet (hopefully).Parents can easily provide you with alot of knowledge with different resouces.
Also their daily job can teach you things.

It’s up to the parent to teach manners and discipline their children

1- A parent has the power to make decisions for the child that teachers can’t. Example: Which school the child will attend, Hire a tutor, What age the child will start school… etc.
2- A child generally changes teachers every year, but has the same parents follow him through his education ‘career’.
