  2. You’re training your child the same lesson they have learnt for thousands of years, either to rebel or submit. Why not teach the child that they have a choice in life, and at this particular time what the child is wanting isn’t wanted by the parent too. How can you come to an arrangement where you are both satisfied?

  3. Entire countries are at war for similar reasons where one side wants everything whilst the other side isn’t happy. Why don’t you look to satisfy the parents needs and the childs needs instead of making the child feel defensive?

  4. You are putting each other in defensive postions in both ways. One way is aggressive by arguing back with the child and one way is passive by walking off. Neither of these are the best way to deal with this issue.
