When I was a kid we used to go to the Milwaukee natural history museum, and they have this fantastic diorama. It’s a life sized t-rex that is taking this gigantic bite out of the side of a triceratops. When you walk into the room thunder and lighting flash off and you can hear the cicadas humming in between the roar of the massive dinosaur. We would always run past as quickly as we could up to the balcony that overlooked it, tripping over each other and running into parents with strollers we would hide from the t-rex before he could take a big bite out of us too. The guts of the poor triceratops were hanging out and it’s tongue partially escaping it’s lips sighed in agony. We did this every time we went there; me, my brother and sister until we all were too old to play like children anymore.

one of the things about this neighborhood is that it’s Baby Central, and it seems like every child’s outgrown toys are simply left out on the sidewalk. along with strollers, bouncers, high chairs, etc.

Question–: To get rid of or not to get rid of?-Baby Clothes,Shoes & Toys.?
I am currently debating about getting rid of my baby clothes. My youngest is 18months my oldest is 4. Most of the clothes are hand me downs from my 4 year old and they are in still really great condition and alot of nice things name brand etc. As well as toys. I am so overwhelmed with clutter. We are planning on trying 1 more time but not until my youngest is 5. Should I hang on to the stuff that long or sell it through consingment and start over? Keeping big things such as crib-stroller-pack-n-play. Etc.

I would definately not hang onto them that long especially if you are feelign overwhelmed adn needing space. I DO Know that as soon as we started gettign rid of our sons clothes we foudn out I was pregnatn again LOL Both erwere unplanned although MUCH wanted.

well i firmly believe that its ok to pass down a few items from child to child but not with every child as not all children are the same. i have 2 boys and a 3rd on the way and i would never make my newborn wear clothes my 11yr old wore as a baby. Keep a few things and give away the rest. No sense in keeping it all right cause once you get pregnant and your in the mall you always shop for a new baby anyway and if you are gonna be trying in a few yrs you have plenty of time to get what you need anyway.

You can always do consignement, and get things your children need now.. rotating and selling on consignment whatever they outgrow. The other thing is, you’ll be able to “swap” your clothing that is too small for clothing that is not. I think it’s a good idea, and by the time you DO have a new little one, you’ll be a pro at it! Good luck!

Do you have anyone you can lend it to for now? That’s what I did. All of my SIL’s are either pregnant or have babies and I simply initial my daughters names on the tags and let them borrow them. That way when I need them again, I can get them back.

Start over. But I work for a consignment shop, and I will tell you, with you using them twice, most likely they will not take the clothes. Because they are most likely too worn. Many people bring in stuff thinking its great, even tho its yrs old, and just dont understand that people wont buy stuff like that. I personally think you would be better off with a yard sale. As far as the stroller and stuff, maybe keep that

If you are planning on having another one then, of course, you should keep the stuff if you or someone you know has room to store it. You know how expensive things are, so why have to spend money later on something that you already have now?!

If u are not planning to have another child for a few years and don’t have enough space keep only thing that has a lot of memories and sell the rest u can spend what money u get on the children u have now. good luck

I would get rid of the clothes & toys. Who knows what will happen, you may end up not having another child and you really need to clear up some clutter right now. Plus if they are left over from your first child, by the time they get to your third child in 5 years, they will be NINE years old. Hold onto the big stuff, but you can always buy clothes when the time comes from consignment shops, or you can find good deals at Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, eBay, etc.

I think it depends on the storage space that you have. If you have a house with an attic or basement, you can always box it all up according to sizes, and tuck it away in a corner and forget about it! If you have a house without that extra storage space, or if you have an apartment, i think you should definitely sell them. I am pregnant with my 2nd child, and its a boy. My first was a girl and I saved all her stuff, so as soon as I found out this one is a boy, I posted it all on Craigslist to sell! I’ve already made 0 and its not even close to all gone.

I would keep the expensive things and would get rid of anything else by the time your ready to have another styles are going to be diffrent and in storage things can get staind and water damaged depending on where and how you plan to store them. I would sell them to a consignment shop or have a yard sale.
