!!Good advice :It’s very easy to get sucked into the constant advertising of baby powders, creams, and lotions. But the best baby lotion is plain old olive oil—cheap, natural, and un-perfumed. As for other products, keep it as natural, organic, and fragrance-free as possible.
Question–: Newborn doctor schedule and feeding question?
My son is now 3.5 weeks old and at 2 weeks he got his first well baby check at the pediatrician. I know that he needs to see the doctor once a month for the first year.. my question is do I take my son at a month old or a month from when he last saw the pediatrician?
Also.. as I said he’s 3.5 weeks old and is eating 3-4 ounces of formula at a time now, every 3 or 4 hours. Is this normal or is he eating too much?
Thanks!

He needs to go for his next doctor visit at six weeks old, four weeks after the first visit. Don’t worry about how much he is eating, at least not about it being too much. He has A LOT of growing to do, you should let him eat as much as he wants, especially if you are breastfeeding.

Your next appointment will be at 2 months, not 6 weeks. YOU have a 6 week checkup, not your baby. He will also be getting his shots, so remember to give him Tylenol before he gets them.
3-4 ounces is just fine, babies will only eat when they’re hungry.

You don’t need to bring him once a month for the whole first year. You bring him in at 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months and you bring him in when he’s that old, not when that much time has passed.

I would suggest taking him one month after his doctor visits. I personally didnt take my son that much to the doctor. Only the 2 week, 1 month , 3, 5 ,9, and 12 month visits. (to get his shots) unless he was sick or I thought something was wrong (like his feeding or rash) But about the feeding it sounds to me like he is a growing boy. My son by the time he was only 2 weeks old, he ate 4oz at a time about every 4 hours. Sometimes sooner like 3 hours. Your son sounds like my son as far as the eating part lol.
My son is chunky (always have been though) good eater. He is 2.5 yrs old and weights 40lbs. He weights more than my half sister and she is 4 yrs old and is only 32lbs. LOL
Good Luck! You sound like a wonderful mother. And you son sounds like a good eater!

No, you don’t have to go every month. You usually go when the baby will have their checkups and vaccines. Going every month would be too complicated.

newborn feeding schedule–: Question about my newborns feeding schedule?
Should I wake her up for the feeding if she is sound asleep or wait until she cries ? I’m a new mom and clueless
The following is the answer: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)
Answer by Kylie
You don’t need to wake her up. If she is hungry she will wake by herself
Answer by kyzaz_23
I never woke my little one. I would let him sleep until he woke up for a feed. This is also what the midwives at the hospital told me. My son is now an 11 month old little chubba bubba!
Answer by becka21au
Our midwife told us if she had slept for 4 hours to wake her and give her a feed. Sometimes we would have to do it, but other times she would just wake herself within that time
Good Luck
Answer by lyndseygeorge

Answer by Jacob’s Mommy
Don’t wake her-let her sleep.
Answer by Mrs Mum
Only DEMAND feed her. If she isn’t asking for food, you don’t need to feed her.

Hey what a good question. I feel each family has their own schedule on feeding their newborn. Let her sleep babies need their sleep when she is hungry she will wake up. However feeding her a bottle every 4 hours is a good schedule to keep her on. How many oz. is she drinking at one feeding? She should be drinking at least 4 oz. and another thing you can always ask your doctor questions too. Your not clueless so don’t be so hard on yourself. There are a lot of books on raising newborns, it might be a good idea if you look into them and purchase one for yourself and your baby. Good luck and congratulations on your new member of your family.

well depending on ur babies size if very small pike 5 pound yes wake them within 5 hours definatly due to baby this size tend to oversleep because of warmth they can get overtired then cause them to sleep more so best to feed them all the nutrtional milk as much as possible my dr said ,, plus u will learn to no ur bubz and eating patterns like sometimes more sleep than other times u will get the hang of it!!! Congrats!!
Answer by Jushkie
It depends on how “newborn” she is. Very young (talking few days old), babies might be sleepy for a different reason, like jaundice and have to be woken up. Otherwise no, let her sleep
