My Little Girl Will Be Two In July. Until Now Her Main Diet Has Been Gerber Stage 2 Baby Foods.?
26 December 2009
Well- she will eat what we eat but in very small portions. today we decided not to give her any more baby foods. We have offered her waffles. Cereal. Lettuce. Bread. Meats. Cheese. Carrots. Peas and corn. With the exception of 2 glasses of whole milk she has NOT eaten a thing today. Should I give her baby food? Or, should I hold out for the rest of the day and HOPE that she will eat when she is hungry?
Wait it out. She will eat when she gets hungry.
Cut off the milk to the recommended amount for her age and remember that if you give in to her and give her baby food, she will always think she can get baby food out of you.
She should have been off of baby food by now, or at least on the stage 3. If she isn’t wanting to eat then give her the baby food. You don’t want to starve the child, and then try working in more table food, and less baby food. Don’t switch it all at once. Also you could try the Gerber Graduate meals. They are really good for small children, but really she should have been off of baby food by now..
This may be a tough transition for her. I would be patient and slowly introduce the new foods. I would make sure that she is eating something…but maybe put a small dish of stage 2 foods, and some other new options on her plate as well. Even with my older children I always have something familar on the plate when I introduce new foods. I would take it slow, maybe only start with one meal to try new things, and possibly snack time. Good luck!! She will learn to like the new foods, but it will take time.
Well, kids can sometimes be difficult. If our kids refuse to eat we don’t care. They will eventually. If they’re hungry enough, they will eat. But, thats my kids. We stopped giving them baby foods at like a year old or something. Anyway, this is all new to her, so take your time and don’t force her into new foods. She eventually will regular foods. GOOD LUCK!
Skip the baby food and stop buying it. She’s past the age that she needs that. She doesn’t like the real food because with baby food she has never had to chew anything or get used to different textures. Get rid of the baby food and do not cave in or buy more. When she’s hungry she will eat.
Wait her out for sure! She really should have been off baby food almost a year ago.
Start with tasty, easy to eat foods (not steak for example) and talk to your pediatrician… I’m shocked that he/she has allowed you to go this long with out real people food. Be sure to get some protein in her also.
my son is 11 months old and he has been off of baby food since he was 9 months, he likes our food better same goes for my older son. just stop giving her the food and start feeding her our food. shell be just fine. she will eat when she is hungry.
my daughter was off baby food b4 she started she liked the look of our food better i guess. lol I doubt she’ll be willing to starve herself at tthat age so she will eat eventually i would wait it out unless u want to continue buying baby food
id wait her out for sure. shell eat when shes hungry.
