jogging stroller with car seat–: Jogging Strollers that are reasonably priced that are compatible with car seats?
I am looking for a jogging stroller I could use with an infant and would be compatible with a car seat. Most of the ones I am finding are not compatible with car seats and are not recommended until the baby is 6 months old. It this typical? This is my first child so everything is very new to me.

You may find a 3 wheel stroller to use with a car seat, and even some jogging strollers to use from close to birth but you can’t actually JOG with baby until they are around 6 months. You also NEVER want to jog with a car seat on a 3 wheel stroller, it will be very top heavy and can be easily tipped over.
If you want an affordable stroller strictly for jogging, look into a Jeep fixed wheel, or In-Step. If you want one with a swivel front wheel, it has to lock securely in place some how as running with a swivel front wheel will greatly increase the odds of tipping over.

visit any store that sells strollers & find the one that fits your budget and needs best. the car seat is for the CAR. put the babe in the stroller.

Baby Trend.
Most jogging strollers are not acceptable for use until 6 months when running (plus they don’t lay down well) but the Baby Trend Phantom is approved for 2 months up (but not when running) because it lays down well. However, until then you don’t use it at all, and not for running until they’re older.
As for car seats, the Baby Trend does fit their car seats, and others, but it’s not a good idea to use a car seat in a stroller. Car seats should be used for car transportation only because sitting at that incline decreases the oxygen level in their blood by a few points. Especially for those under 3 months and especially to keep them from sleeping in it.

Jogging strollers generally are not compatible with car seats because of the nature of their design. If you had one that fit a car seat, it’s not going to be as smooth as one that didn’t. Most gals who buy them are walkers, not runners.
My relative is a marathon runner who is 30 weeks now and she said the ones with car seats just suck.

I have a few questions about jogging strollers. First, at what age can you put a baby in the jogging stroller with a car seat? Second, I see a whole bunch of jogging strollers online like at Target.com and they say you can put in a car seat. Are there jogging strollers that you can put in your own car seat where you don’t have to buy the car seat that goes with the stroller? We already have a car seat and I would have to have to buy another one! Thanks!

no you need to buy their carseat….. unless you carseat will fit onto their stroller… it needs to slip in securely.
when i got my first stroller, it was a quinny buzz 3, and i bought a maxi cosi carseat….
when i got my next stroller it was a britax b dual (a double stroller) and i had to buy the britax carseat to match the stroller… my old carseat would not fit.
just put your old stuff on ebay

Many jogging strollers can accommodate an infant car seat because they have a universal car seat adapter that you can purchase separately. A newborn baby can ride in the car seat with your jogging stroller, HOWEVER you should not go jogging with the car seat installed! Some jogging strollers do not accommodate a car seat, so check carefully.
As a matter of fact, you should not begin jogging with your baby until he can hold up his head on his own, and even then, pediatricians recommend that the closer to a year old your child is, the better. You could probably get away with six months old, but not much younger than that, because of the baby’s ability to withstand the vibration of the frame and wheels from going at faster speeds.
I hope this bit of info helps. I’ve given you some more resources, such as what else you need to look for in jogging strollers and the option to get an all-terrain stroller, which is basically a jogger with a swivel wheel. You have more options besides what’s offered at your local Target.
