jogging stroller with car seat–: Can anyone recommend a car seat system that is easy to use, safe and for newborns to toddlers?
Please let me know your recommendations, ideally we’d like to get a system with a stroller that can be used for jogging too.

I love my Safety First Complete Air convertible car seat. It is safe for infants over 5 pounds. It can be rear facing up to 40 pounds and forward facing up to I think 60 pounds. It’s easy to install and it has side impact protection for baby’s head. The harness is not easy for kids to unbuckle (sometimes it takes me two hands to get off).

Hi, I had a Gracco car seat and a Kolcraft universal infant seat carrier for a stroller for all my 3 kid’s first year, then I bought a Cosco car seat when my son out grew the infant seat and it has been used by all 3 as well. I have always preferred to by a mid range stroller with a big basket that will last one kid and buy a new one wen the next kid growsx out of the carrier, rather than spend a fortune on a stroller that the kids ruin and that goes out of style. You can buy a nice enough stroller for 100 bucks that will last 2 years or more. I think that some of the travel systems are excessive and the Kolcraft universal infant seat carrier is so compact and has a great basket. I still have it and will keep it in case I have a 4th someday…

I don’t know of any seats that can be used from infancy – toddler hood that can also be used with a stroller system.
We use convertible seats. Ours goes from 5-65lbs, Britax Boulevard. but you can’t strap a convertible seat into a stroller/jogging stroller.
Buy the seat, and the jogging stroller separately

They are rated very highly on saftey, they are easy to use and the one that we had lasted through many stages which offset the fact that they are a little more expensive. You won’t have to buy different seats as they get older.

If you want a seat that can be used with a stroller, you’ll want to start with an infant seat and move to a convertible later. For infant seats I like the Graco SnugRide 35, the Chicco KeyFit 30, and the Safety 1st OnBoard Air.

If you want to go with a convertible from birth instead, be aware that even though all the convertibles are rated from 5 lbs, many of them will NOT fit a newborn. In a rear-facing seat, the harness must come from at or BELOW the child’s shoulders. Many seats, such as the Britax seats and the Safety 1st Complete Air a previous poster suggested (which is a great seat, I have one, but it won’t fit a newborn) have bottom slots of around 10″, which won’t fit most babies until they are 6-9 months old.

Convertibles that fit an average-sized newborn are the Evenflo Triumph 65, Graco My Ride, First Years True Fit, Sunshine Kids Radian (only if you purchase the infant insert!), Combi Coccoro.

A note about the Coccoro– this actually does have a compatible stroller system, even though it’s a convertible. It does not have a “base” that it can be popped into so this would require installing it again after each time you use it in the stroller. It’s a very cute little seat, but it is tiny and VERY unlikely to last your child until they are ready for a booster, unless they’re very small.

Edit: I also wanted to note not to be fooled by the “3-in-1″ seats– they make terrible and short-lived boosters, generally will expire before you child is ready for a seatbelt alone, and will not extend high enough to position the seat belt in booster mode to have the seat belt fit correctly without a seat by the time they’ve outgrown the 3-in-1 booster.

Q&A–: Is there a all in one travel stroller?
I had a baby 5months ago and I was wondering is there a stroller(preferably jogging stroller) that comes with a car seat that converts to a booster seat or do I just need to buy a booster seat separate? Also where can I buy a rear facing stroller that is not high in price like the 0 range? All the ones I find are 0 and up.
the first comment, My child is in a carrier which is converted into a car seat. I was not asking that to use it now I was asking for it later on down the line when he gets bigger. And there is a such thing as a rear facing stroller where your child faces you instead of forward in a stroller. I prefer this because this way I can keep and eye on him. And some people like to use the thing that carries your child on your body but I don’t I drive to much and go to many place to take it on and off and put him in it……………………………
Thanks Im looking at a few travel jogging strollers now because the one I have now is from Graco but it is not a jogging stoller and it is not the best to use on walks or on trails.

No. Why on earth would you want such a thing? Your baby is tiny; chuck him in a soft carrier on your body and go about your business. If you enjoy “travel,” you will only be prevented from doing so by trying to push around something rivalling a grocery cart in size and weight.

There are all in one’s that are called something like travel systems. I am not sure about the price. I have a jogging stroller but it is not an all in one. Target and Walmart should have them. You try looking online at the brand Baby Trend but I think they might be expensive, I got mine as a gift. Otherwise I think Graco makes some and sells them at Target.

Your baby is 5 months old, they will be sitting unsupported any day now. You can buy any stroller and use it without the infant seat now.

Answer by Rebecka
They DO have ones like this, yes. I don’t remember the names of any brands (look on craigslist. You don’t have to buy from there, but you can see what I mean). They are usually called Convertible strollers, I think.

I bought a double convertible stroller for my twins, but ended up needing something much lighter. They also have the ones that the infant seats will snap into it, and then you can later snap booster seats in (it is brand specific, so a bit more expensive).

In the USA? ‘Travel systems’ only hold infant car seats. Many of these strollers can be used without a car seat locked on. I bought a stroller without the car seat. Now at the age of 5 months, buying a ‘car seat and stroller combo’ would be a SERIOUS waste of cash. Baby by 6-9 months hate being in those infant buckets, as these seats have too much recline. Plus, by a year who really wants to car a heavy car seat with a 20 pound baby in it! A convertible car seat is only meant for the car, never to be attached to a stroller frame, this is what I have (I never bought infant car seats). I use a Slingling pouch sling, and an adjustable pouch sling. Just slip these over our heads and away we go with baby. A shoulder injury prevents me from lugging around a car seat all day with baby inside. The pouch sling is easier and far more convenient for me. Here is a reversible stroller, but reviews on this say this doesn’t last you long as the child grows too tall by age 2 for this seat comfortable. Plus, you have to take the seat out to collapse the frame. Can’t seriously be easier than a baby sling!

http://www.epinions.com/review/Kolcraft_Jogger_Ruby_Stroller/content_538330566276 this retails for less than 0, and is a jogging style stroller there are plenty of great jogging strollers, hope you find one that works for you!
