I’ve Got About A Month To Go…silly Question About Preparing The Clothes For The Baby…?
I know this is silly, but it’s been a while since I’ve had a newborn infant in the home. I know they can be senstive to dusts and things needs to be fairly clean. Also the clothes need to be washed after being bought or course even when given and passed down w/ baby detergent b/c sometimes thier skin is sensitive to harsher detergents. I’ve washed up everything I have so far, to get it out of the way and ready but am not due till April 4th…which is 4-5 weeks away…is this too early? Do you think I should wash again in a few weeks just to keep things fresh and dust free?? Silly I know….but what would you all do?
A: you can put them in plastic bags if you are really worried about dust but i agree with the first answer
A: all my stuff was washed and hanging in the closet no later than the end of june. my son was born on aug. 18. but i am not a germ- worry wort. my friend re-washed her clother like 5 times before her daughter was born.
A: i washed all my stuff early too. Im one of those ppl that like to be prepared! I washed mine about 5 weeks early and Im not re washing all that stuff again! Im sure it will be fine, especially if its in a drawer or in a closet!
A: They should be fine I done that two months before and had downy sheets in the dresser dr. it keeps them fresh and smelling good too. I still do it to my childs clothes
A: As long as they are in the drawer they are fine.
You don’t need special “baby” detergent either. ( unless you have a history of sensitive skin or unless the baby shows signs of sensitive skin after they are born.
- mom of 3 with baby # 4 due in 3 weeks
A: They will be perfectly fine In the draws, Remember to keep baby’s room nice and aired out, whether that be In your room or baby’s own. Goodluck, It all comes back to you. I had 6 1/2 year gap between my 2 daughters.
A: When I was getting ready for my 6th baby which is due any minute I also washed everything up in January. The best thing to do is after washing them, put them in closed up drawers and in the bottom of each drawer place 1 Downy fabric softner sheet. This keeps them fresh…or the Dreft softner sheets will do good. This really works!
A: its fine, i did mine ages ago andi due finally in 2 weeks with second. just make the cot when you get home so sheets are fresh and just keep wiping down benches inbubs room to get rid of dust and stuff
A: if the clothes are in a dresser they are fine, but if they are in a basket or hung up I’d wash them about a week before your due date. I remember when I was nesting, I cleaned my house top to bottom everyday for 2 weeks, then baby came, and I still havent been able to clean my whole house in a day. good luck!
A: no it shd be fine put them in plastic bags so dust cannot get to them im due april 22nd and considering washing mine up already to lol
A: I’m due in 5 weeks. All my baby clothes were washed weeks ago and put away in drawers. You won’t need to wash them again. Babies aren’t that sensitive. Sounds like someone’s nesting….
A: I’m sure it will all be fine. i don’t think enough dust will get on them before then and the freshness is going to be fine too. just relax and wait for you new one to come.congrats and good luck
