I was wondering how long you have to wash infants clothes in the special infant deturgent?
Well, usually as long as wash your babies clothes a second time you can use any detergent. However, I used Baby All and it was the same as Dreft and worked as well. You can use it as long as you want. Also, you can use the no fragrance type too. You don’t really have to wash infants clothes in baby detergent. It’s just however long you feel like you want to. I just love the smell of the infant detergent.
Im expecting baby #2 in a few weeks, and I looked it up. I concluded that it was the same as any other detergent, so I stuck with my regular one, which is TIDE or some brand name, but I did opt to wash the clothes in the detergent, and then run them through a second wash wtih no detergent to make sure it all came out. Also don’t ever use fabric softer on baby’s clothes, it decreases the flame resistance baby’s clothes have.
you really dont have to even use this detergent – it just has less perfumes etc than most others. if you were to switch, use low perfume etc until they are at least 6 months. then switch, if a rash comes…switch back
The best thing to use is something that is meant for sensitive skin like All Free and Clear or some other brand of frangrance free detergent. Good luck!
I’ve never bothered. Just use half the amount of normal soap, add 1/3 cup of vinegar to the rinse (removes soap residue, softens, removes odours, kills yeast/thrush) and an extra wash.
I never washed my childrens clothes in Dreft or anything like that. Before using regular detergent apply a dab of it to your babys forearm and then wash it off.. if it doesnt get red or anything within 24 hours its okay to use on your baby’s clothes.
