Q&A: I need to get some stains out of old baby dresses?
My Mom gave me the baby things she’s kept for all these years of ours and there are some beautiful dresses. There are some in particular that are like christening gowns and mostly white but then they have some pink detail up top so I can’t bleach them. They kind of have a brown tinge to them now rather than white and some stains. I really like the old fashioned type things with the ruffle diaper covers so I would like to restore these outfits if anyone can help me. Some are 35 years old. What can I wash them in to make them look new again?

I think oxyclean is good also, but if you do not want to buy it, you could try dishwasher powder if you already have it. Time is your friend with mild detergents, so you could soak it in a dishwater powder solution for two days. You might also see if Woolite has a customer help desk for stains but they would need to know the type of fabric.

Blessings, the best for any stain is color-bleach, and baking-soda, it works for me each time… Good luck with those old pretty clothes I can imagine what they all look like.
