I’m having a baby in two weeks and people are bringing me cans of Gerber baby food so I’m stocked up on it when the time comes to switch to baby food. How long do unopened cans stay good?

if i were you I wouldn’t even feed the baby those things. They’ve been in those jars for a long time. I usually steam my own veggies and blend them

Usually there is an expiration date on side or top of the cover. If you can’t find one, call the company or just throw it away. You won’t need it for 6 months anyways and they are only on purees(which you can make on your own) for a few months before switching to table food.

They should have an expiration date but usually they dont go bad for like atleast 6 months to a year.

Look on the top of the jar, it will say when they expire. Also, you don’t ’switch’ to baby food, you add it to their diet, just make sure they are still getting the right amount of breast milk or formula. congrats on the baby

most are good for 6 months to a year there is an expiration date on them. Your gonna be coming close to the expireation date if its 6 months. ask the folks who got them if they still have reciepts or see if a store will give you store credit call and explain the situation to the manager. if not DONT just throw them away, give them to your local church or so to help needy familys, OR if you need cash for them sell them on craigslist cheaper then the store price… most small jars are .88 the plastic ones are a buck for two.. thats kind of early for them to get you baby food. look at this expiration date on it, if they dont get opened they are good til that date….hopefully they make it to the day your baby can eat them.
