The Ann Arbor Brunch Crew had a lovely brunch at my house on September 30th. The weather was lovely, and it was so relaxing to spend a Sunday afternoon outside eating good food and talking to great friends.

Question–: Can you recommend a good baby food cookbook?
I’m starting my son on solids, and after we master the rice cereal I want to make his food for him. Did you use a specific cook book for baby first foods and beyond? I’ve seen the Annabel Karmel “Superfoods for Babies and Children” and I think I’m going to go with that one, but I’m open to other suggestions. And also, If you’ve used that cookbook, did you like it?

I plan on just tossing some of whatever I’m eating into a blender for her. That’s what my midwife, my daughter’s pediatrician, and my sister suggested.

dont think you need a cook book,
im pretty sure all you do is throw some fruits or veggies or meat into a blender and maybe a little water to make sure its easy for him/her to swallow, and you have instant baby food.

I have the book “Top 100 Baby Purees” and its great. It has lots of different recipes from easy and smooth purees to more chunky and even foods that are actual solids that you can feed as you little one enters toddlerhood. I have briefly looked through the Williams and Sonoma Baby cookbook that was recently released and it looked very interesting, but like most of the other Williams Sonoma cookbooks, it sometimes require unusual more high scale ingredients that most people don’t have in their kitchens. If you are however a culinary master, it may be worth investing in. The “Top 100 Baby Purees” runs from -. There are also recipes that you can find online too if you just look up baby recipes. Hope this helps!
