When I started it I gave it at lunch time, so then if it upset her it didn’t keep her up all night. When you actually give meals do it at the same time each day, not on demand.

Parent should discipline the baby food feeds systematically and carefully.
On time feeding baby regularly, always feeding when the baby start hungry, remember what kind of food mill suit for baby and the amount of food appropriate in baby’s age.

If he has never had anything but formula, I would start with rice cereal and formula. I would also only do it once a day for the first couple of days until you know how he will react (sleep wise, poop wise etc) After he has done that for 3 days you can try and increase the times you feed him (he probably won’t eat alot at first) and just make sure when introducing new foods you wait a week in between to make sure there are no allergies. Best of Luck and keep a camera handy for the funny faces he will be making.

I gave the daycare some stage one food and asked them to give it after her afternoon nap. I did once a day for the first month or so, then we did once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I found that, in the early stages, feeding her past 6pm confused her tummy into thinking she was hungry at midnight, when she was actually digesting.
So I didn’t start the after 6pm feedings until her tummy got use to the digesting ideas. Then around month 6 she balked at all things spoon related, so we tried to infant feeder, this worked for about a month, but still not too good, We finally figured out that she only liked finger food that she could pick up and put in her mouth.
This change brought on the concept of the french fry, the mild shredded cheddar cheese, the steamed carrots, the steamed potato, and the finger food they sell for the sitter and crawler at the store. She is particularly partial to the yogurt drops, and the cheese puffs for babies.
Good luck with the food and the teething which should come in hot and heavy around now. Buy some infant tylenol if you haven’t already, and get ready for the 2am wake up again.

Hi, it can be quitehard sometimes introducing solids to your baby. Try to feed your bub baby food before giving him breast or bottle.
Answer by mummyof2princesses
Just introduce light foods first such as baby rice/breakfast firstly (expect the baby to heive, gag, or choke the first few times this is very normal (as they are not used to anything thicker than milk going down their throats) just give the baby it in really small spoonfulls first…. Once they are eating breakfast (aswell as milk) in the morning, introduce half a tin/small serving if cooking yourself, for their dinner + milk, everyday for about a week (if they eat it no problem then increase amount of food to 1 tin/bigger serving. and cut the milk down a few ounces (tip: give them the small amount of milk first, if you don’t they might become irratable and angry as they are hungry and not getting it quick enough!)- also if you don’t it might put you off and knock your confidence. After this is going smoothly add pudding! and not give them milk. Do the same with the evening meal, progressively though over time.
Also when they are fully having baby food for breakfast, dinner, tea, increase the solids (tip: babyfoods -store bought give a guide line on ages!)
Good luck I’m sure you’ll do fine – and its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be!! I found it really easy!

It’s best to start with one feeding a day, and only do a lil bit at time (a few spoonfuls a day) til they get used to feeding. Pick a time when ur son isn’t cranky, and also after he’s had most of a bottle feed (so he’s not too hungry, but also not too full either), and try it then. Once he gets the hang out feeding then u can increase it slowly til they are eating a whole jar of stage 1 food. Then once they are eating that well, then u can introduce another feeding sometime else when he’s not that cranky and right after part of a bottle feed.
It’s best to him have some of a bottle so that he doesn’t wanna eat too much baby food, as formula should still be the main source of nutrition for him, and should be til about a year old.
Hope this helps and good luck,
