Kratts’ Creatures episode 111 – Elephants I: Educating Emily (part 2 of 3) Chris and Martin visit an elephant orphanage in Kenya, where baby elephants who have lost their parents, often to poachers, are brought up and prepared for a return to the wild. The guys find that baby-sitting Emily, a young elephant, and two other babies, is a lot more demanding than they expected. Sleeping with the baby elephants, keeping them warm, showing them what to eat, and playing with them are all part of helping a baby elephant survive and ultimately rejoin a wild herd.

Home is the first school of every child. Whatever a baby learns in his pre school will help him forever. A baby who already done his pre school activities like recognizing numbers, alphabets, figures etc., will get an additional advantage over children in school. Learning alphabets and numbers is not a difficult task. It is the most easy and entertaining activity when you make it fun. Here is the some way that makes learning easy and fun.

Alphabet Lyrics and Coloring Pages

It is very basic sound that should be done before teaching of visual representation of alphabets, numbers. First teach him name of the letter with alphabet song.  Sing this song with your baby and simultaneously show that alphabet. Print out a sheet of that letter from any coloring pages website and color it with your baby. Repeat this coloring activity few times and point his finger to the alphabet that you have sung and colored. Take print out of some coloring pictures that start from that letter such as for alphabet “A” take print out of airplane and apples. These coloring sheets are very common in our daily life and will help to educate your child. This way your child would get familiar with that letter.

Letters of their Name

Generally children learn the first letter of their name. Their name is the first word that every child learns to write and speak. Once they can speak the spelling and pronunciation of their name then make some print out of some tracing pages of their name from any coloring worksheet of coloring pages website. This coloring activity is directly relate the shape of the alphabet with the letter of their name and help them to recognize and print their own name.

Tracing the Letters of the Alphabet

Once your child learns reading and printing of his own name then start tracing the other alphabets. This will strengthen the verbal learning of alphabet with early identifying ability of letters. Repetition of this coloring activity will help your baby to learn the shape and identification of letters.

The most significant things to keep in mind about teaching your child the alphabet are to keep it fun and keep at it daily. It should not work it at long that result in reduce the interest of baby and your child get frustrated. Teach the alphabet for short span at multiple times during each day and you’ll be surprised at your child’s growth.
Learning alphabets with coloring activities is not a difficult task for your baby when you make it fun. It is the easiest way to teach your child. Your baby will enjoy learning and you also enjoy parenting. So enjoy parenting with coloring pages and make your baby to be successful in his life.
