Does Anybody Know What Other Foods Can Irritate A Baby When Nursing Besides Tomatoes?
my new little grandson was fussy after his mom had pizza. I remember when I nursed my childrend that certain foods the mother eats can bother the baby. Does anyone know any other foods that do this besides tomatoes?
A: So many, and it all depends. Any diary product, cheese, milk, ice cream etc., garlic, anything spicy, anything too sugary, other citrus foods, soda, coffee.
A: i eat anything i want except alcohol of coarse and my son never had a problem, those are coinsidences to me. what goes in your tummy does not go in you breastmilk what is in your blood does of coarse dairt can cause extra lactose in you breastmilk which may cause upset bellies
A: It really does depend on the child. Our daughter was also bothered by any tomato product I ate or fresh tomato.
It didn’t bother our son.
Broccoli bothered him. Onions as well.
Your daughter may want to omit those things for a time- and reintroduce later. She will not have to delete these things from her diet forever….just until the 3rd month or before.
Keep mylicon drops on hand and when your grandson has a reaction or seems to, have mom and dad give him a dose of mylicon and it works well.
Our daughter was also bothered by caffeine, chocolate- due to the caffeine, spices that were hot such as curry, and onions. Nothing else bothered her.
Good job for supporting her- she is lucky to have you!
A: im nursing with mysecond child and she doesnt like it after i have eaten any type of salad, or drank lemonade.
A: Though I never had ANY problems except with apricots; gave her the runs. But they say caffeine, broccoli, strawberries, nuts, eggs, milk may cause problems. Though I wouldn’t say that him being fussy was because of the pizza…now if he did it a second time I’d consider it. If it happened again I’d quit pizza until he was weaned
A: I have to avoid too much dairy (in any form), eggs (he gets a rash about 12-24 hours after I eat eggs), too much garlic, and too much chocolate.
My doc said that the only thing that really translates to breast milk is dairy – but I know that when I eat certain
There are no foods that all nursing mothers should avoid, thankfully. Mama will just have to watch her baby to see if there’s a consistent pattern. I never had to eliminate anything from my diet and I eat all kinds of spicy foods, acidic foods, gassy foods, dairy and everything else. Some moms, on the other hand, notice problems when they eat dairy or tomatoes or soy or jellybeans. It’s a case-by case kinda thing.
Here is an excellent page for help if she thinks baby may be having a reaction to something she ate:http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/foo…

I think it is very dependent on the child.
My first couldn’t stand when I ate jalapenos.
My second couldn’t stand when I ate broccoli or onions.
