  1. I wash my baby boys clothes right along with everyone else’s I use All Free N Clear or Purex Laundry Detergent. I used to do the baby clothes separately when my oldest was a baby but I learned in a hurry it wasn’t necessary to be doing all that extra laundry
It isn’t necessary to pay all that extra on the “Baby” Laundry Detergents, for the ones I use work just as well and he has never had any problems and we all have allergies and sensitive skin. Also when we buy anything I always launder them first(and sometimes run them through a couple times) before putting them on either of my boys.
I would be doing laundry every day if I did them separately and I do it frequently enough now as it is. I do my hubby’s uniforms separate from everything else though

  2. wash her clothes by themselves in regular detergent
her diapers in all free and clear with NO bleach, or fabric softener
every 3 months strip the diapers and once a month use vinegar, rinse, wash, rinse again -
why? because my husband works outside and sweats alot….i work in the home doing everything from dishes to home repairs and i don’t want all those germs on her or her clothes – when we have dress clothes to wash that we have not gotten dirty, i SOMETIMES will wash a few pieces with hers….but i don’t like to

  3. Being new parents, we initially used Dreft baby soap and only washed our son’s clothes with his things. Then one day while in the detergent aisle, I compared some of the soaps and found that Tide Free(which I was already using for my things) for Sensitive Skin, like a baby’s, has the exact same ingredients and concentrations as Dreft. So now I wash all of his things with our things using Tide Free, which makes things so much easier because now I don’t have to wait to get a full load of all his teeny tiny little clothing.

  4. We used unscented laundry soap like Tide Free or All Free. I washed her things separate for about the first year just to keep them cleaner. Also when she was small I used less detergent and an extra rinse cycle to make sure all the detergent was out before putting it on her skin. I used drier sheets on the adult clothes, but not for my daughter’s – just to reduce the chemicals she was exposed to.

  5. Violated Meppa

Previously when my kids were newborns I washed all their stuff separately from ours in a very mild detergent. Once I found out by washing a few items in with ours that the normal detergent didn’t give them rashes or anything I now just wash a load as we get them all our clothes in together. I also do use fabric softer but it is a hypoallergenic plant based one, no tallow (fat) for us.

  6. Roo Roo's Mom

I asked my doctor this question and this was his advice. For the first couple of weeks wash it separate with Drift or Tide free. If all is going well, try washing one or two pieces of baby’s clothes with yours. When you put this piece of clothing on your baby watch for any signs of a reaction. If the baby is fine, slowly add more of his clothes in with yours.

  7. a little curious

i use a free and clear detergent as my little one has exema and i wash them with everyone elses now but until recently i washed them seperat just because it is so hard to keep all his little things together. now i only wash his onsies and diapers seperate because they usually get treated and a second rince.

  8. Wash my son’s in lux soap flakes. This has been done since he was born and is now 12 months old. I expect I will stop this soon. Its more about his skin being so delicate and nice and soft and smoochy. I just want to use things that are nice for his skin. My parents used to wash my stuff in this…so i guess I am just following them!

  9. Alyssa's mommy

I washed my daughter’s stuff with dreft when she was a newborn.. now I wash her stuff in All free and clear… sometimes I mix a few pieces in with our stuff.
You aren’t supposed to use fabric softener/dryer sheets with baby stuff. Sometimes I do. Oops.

  10. Well I used Dreft with my first two kids but with our baby now we use ALL the one with no dyes or anything. Most babues have sensitve skin and many detergents irritate them. We use ALL this time around cause its just as good but alot cheaper!!! With 3 kids we need cheaper! LOL But when I did use just the Dreft I washed their clothes seperate cause that stuff is pricey..didn’t want to waste it! LOL

  11. My first baby had some general allergies from birth…(have thankfully grown out of them since though).
I only ever used “Lux Flakes” or vinegar, and I always washed the baby clothes seperately, and the nappies in their own wash.

  12. I use to wash all my other bubs clothes seperatly. Then my last bub spent his 1st 6 weeks in nicu and they washed all his stuff in normal detergent and he never got a rash. Now i just wash his with the rest of our washing. Much easier!

  13. I do all my laundry with a gentle oraganic detergent. My baby’s clothes are always washed with the rest, but the cloth diapers are always separate.

  14. I wash my baby girls clothes in with my other laundry. She doesn’t show any signs of being allergic to the detergent we use, so I just wash everything together :-)

  15. I bundle all our clothes in together and use regular detergent.
    Never had any problems.

  16. i wash her clothes seperate from ours, it seems easier for me & i use dreft…..

  17. regular unsented kind…

I wash my babys clothes in Ivory Snow which is baby detergent. I only do a load with her things- not anything else.
