I agree completely. I am also related (not by blood) to a woman who does this with her son. He's always traipsing around in clothes she can't afford. He's nearly five years old now & it's been this way since he was born. I don't get it. Meanwhile, the mom is in credit card debt to wazoo.
This isn't the message I am teaching my children. This message of whatever feels good, do it, no matter the cost. It sort of explains the state of things today, don'tya think?

I buy all my kids clothes at consignment stores. I love Old Navy, Gap and The Childrens Place. I am lucky enough that the clothes that the consignment stores carry are the brands I love. I would never buy my children designer clothes because I cannot afford it, they grow out of clothes so fast and their clothes get stained.

I never dressed in ANY designer brands until I was 13, and I bought some for myself to see what the big deal was.
In fact, when I was in elementary school, all my clothes came from Wal-Mart, Target, or they were hand-me-downs from my cousins. Actually, a lot of my clothes still are from Target.
It's just stupid. My neighbor's kids are dressed in Hollister and stuff and they're not even four years old yet. I mean, what values are these children getting taught? They're your children, not your dress-up dolls!

I agree, why spend soo much money on clothes for a baby, in like 3 months it won't fit anymore.

Only if I get on the sale rack really cheap!!
I have never paid full-price for any of my daughter's clothes! All items are bought on sale, or off the clearance rack. I already have clothes for her for next summer that I got for 75% off!!
Garage sales are awesome to find some of those designer clothes too. She may have gotten some of them that way or from friends. Let the crazy people spend the money and then you buy it from them for cheap!
