Too much!! I am breastfeeding-but I know if you go to the websites: www.similac.com, www.carnationgoodstart.com, and www.enfamil.com and sign up for samples they send you coupons in the mail for free formula, and if you keep using them (they are like checks) they keep sending them to you! I got 22 cans of powder and 78 bottles of nearly free formula with my last two babies this way and I donated most of it!!

Question–: do wic coupons cover the full cost of baby formula?
The following is the answer: (Hint: The answer is not necessarily.)
Answer by Mama J.
That depends on how much your baby drinks. Sometimes they do, but with 2 of my 3 babies I had to buy some extra each month. WIC is not meant to cover the whole cost, but supplement the cost of formula. If you find that you need more food pantries often carry formula. Also I used to buy the Parent’s Choice brand at WalMart. It was equivelant to the Prosobee that WIC used to give and about 1/3 the price.

Not in a shop. You can get them from a health or baby clinic.

nope. i always had to buy an extra 24oz can of Gentlease cause my daughter would drink more than what they give her. now that she’ll be 8mo next Thursday, i’m finally at the point where what she drinks is covered by WIC, but that’s only cause she’s on solids now
Answer by Clyde
No. WIC is only to give some of what the baby will need. At first (maybe the first month, two if you’re lucky) you might only need the 10 cans or so that they give you, but eventually your baby will start to eat more and thus you’ll end up needing to buy a few extra cans.
Answer by Maternal And Family Health Services
Not always. It depends on a lot of different factors, including how much your baby eats. As they grow they’ll need more formula, so you might need to buy a can or two. As they move on to solids, you’ll probably be able to get by without buying extra.
If you’re running low or having a hard time buying the extra formula your baby needs, I’d talk to your WIC office to see if they can help you any more or give you some advice on other organizations that can assist you. They should be able to help you find some sources, even if they can’t give you anything extra.
Good luck!
