Question–: how much does baby food cost.need help fast?
i need to know how much 3 jars of infant food and formula for 3 months cost. and also 4 jars of jr. food and formula would cost for 3 months

Depends on how much the baby is eating. Best estimate is in the range of 320-400 a month if you’re giving them normal formula and healthy organic baby food…not that cheap store brand crap and pesticide filled disgusting stuff.

Formula is about -15 for a 12.9 oz can (at least Enfamil Lipil with Iron is). I don’t know what stage baby food you are talking about but I’d say 1 jar of stage 2 baby food is probably between 59-65 cents…stage 3 would be about 89 cents for 1 jar.

Formula for three months for my son costs around 300 dollars, at 25 dollars a week.
It would just be ridiculous to buy 3 months worth of jarred food though, if you are on a budget.
Making it and freezing it yourself will save easily 80% the cost of that much jarred food.
But, for the purpose of answering, here, one jar of food is one dollar.
So thats 3 dollars a day, which is 21 dollars a week, which is just around 260 dollars for 3 months.

Formula for three months would average between 300-400 dollars. If you cannot afford formula or baby food, contact your states WIC program. They provide baby food, milk, cheese, eggs, juice, and FORMULA. Formula is VERY expensive and I recommend Similac Advanced with Iron. Good luck and God bless.

Only as much as you let it cost.
Baby food: You won’t need this until after 6 months. Even then a lot of babies only eat jarred foods for a few months before moving onto table foods. Making your own baby food will save you even more money.
Diapers: Try out store brands(Target worked really well for us). Or look into cloth diapering.
Clothing: You’ll get tons from family and friends and if not then try out second hand shops or Craigslist(Craigslist is actually great for a lot of baby gear).
You’ll have bigger upfront costs such as the crib, car seat, and stroller but other than that it shouldn’t be too difficult. When our son was younger we probably spent 0/month on him(diapers, formula, other necessities).
ETA: Good grief, where are parents shopping at when it costs 10 grand for the first YEAR of a baby’s life?? I gotta know because that’s a ridiculous amount.

That’s actually a tough one.. I’d really need to sit and do some math to give you a real number, but based on what I have spent on my 3 month old thus far, I’d say it’s pushing ,500-2,000. That is not including his big pieces of gear like his stroller and car seat, swing and jumperoo or the cost of the furniture for his nursery. That’s the sum of diapers, wipes, clothes, toys, teethers and gas drops I have paid for. WIC pays for his formula, thank God because he is now on Alimentum which is damn near a 12.9 oz can!
I did overhear some women talking in babies-r-us that raising an infant the first year costs somewhere within the 0,000 range.

the cost for me 80
clothes- less then 0 ~ i was given ALOT and i mean alot , hes 13 months old and i still have clothes for him that will fit when hes 4 yrs old
car seat-150
stroller – brought for us
cot- was brought for us along with change table and blanket box
mattress-
bedding- all made by grandma as a present
diapers- used cloth for a while so 0 for that , now spending a week for disposables , so bout $ 600 for the whole year
wipes / diaper cream etc etc, – again got a lot given , only spent around 0
formula- was breastfed also – 0
bottles –
baby food- made most of it , so was about an extra -10 a week
just by the occasnal jar incase i dont have anything to make him

oh toys – spent the most of all , about 0
like i sed , my son was the first grandchild and great grand child , and even great great grand child .. we had almost everything given to us , i didnt even need to buy wipes or diapers till he was 3 months old
and i just brought the first bottle of baby bath soap last week
i dont think ive forgottan anything ,
its all australian dollars … ( and i got the 00 baby bonus from the goverment — went straight to a trust fund for my son )
and the hospital was free because of the public health system .

Hmm, when you say ,000 for the first year, are you including medical expenses from the labor and delivery? If not, you are paying waaaay too much for something. Cost of children vary, but the thing is, it’s an ongoing expense. You can make it through the cost of diapers and clothes, but you have to factor in other things as they get older. In short, it is very expensive to raise a child, but I don’t think anyone can just put a specific dollar amount on it.
