Question–: What is the cost of baby food at Disney World?
We are traveling from Michigan with our 6 month old son. I am just wondering how far ahead we would be to take our own. How much is a jar in the baby centers? What do they charge in the restaurants for the infant meals and what do they consist of?
The answer in the following: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)
Answer by Chrissy
they have baby food at disney world?!
Answer by Willy the Wonder Boy
I dont think they sell any actual baby food. You need to buy it before you go in and store it in your bags.
Answer by Josie T
you should bring your own
Answer by Twilight4Life
I’m pretty sure they don’t sell baby food at Disney World, and anyway, necesities like that are extremely expensive there, so I highly recomend bringing your own.

We are taking our 9 month old in a week and are trying to figure out what to do. Hopefully we can get by with lots of bottles and less jarred food. I would think that most resorts stock some baby food in their conveniece stores-heck you can always call your resort before you go. We debated having it delievered, carrying it in our luggage, or shipping to our resort ahead of time (watch out for this because I hear that resorts charge a handling fee, then it may not be worth it). I am bringing lots of snacks, and hopefully the restaraunts can give us a slice of toast to keep him occupied. Buy a banana in the park, and maybe share some of my dinner. But mostly bottles, especially at 6 months.

There are no infant meals at any Disney restaurant. Everything at Disney is big bucks.
Bring everything you are going to need. From batteries for your camera, to Advil and band-aids to diapers and baby food. I packed every over the counter medicine we could possibly need. Bring everything you will need for your baby with you.
If you are staying at a Disney resort you can call and ask if they carry baby food. We were at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and they did carry some food and toiletries. But very over priced. I doubt you would find baby food in the parks at all.

Hi. We just got back from Orlando with our little ones. Your best bet is to go to the Walmart in Orlando for the food. I actually thought that their prices were even cheaper than in Pennsylvania. I would suggest taking a mini baby food mill in the diaper bag just in case or instant cereal or oatmeal just in case.
Answer by Lilli
I don’t think the resturants carry “infant” meals. I have never seen it done. They just have regular kids meals. As far as finding baby food for purchase, yes, they do have it here and there in the convenience stores. But it’s twice as much (or more) than at your regular grocery store. Could you just drive/rent a car/take a taxi to the local grocery or Wal-Mart after you get there? How about using a grocery delivery service in the area, such as Garden Grocer? (http://allears.net/aa/aa072108.htm)
Or you may decide that it is just worth to pay extra. But I don’t know which resorts carry baby food since it is sort of a specialty item, and their selection is limited. I would call your resort ahead of time and find out if/what they have.

I could not find prices for food in the babycare centers, I only could find a reference saying you will be paying a high price.
I did find pictures of the babycare centers including the kitcken area. It is hard to see what babyfood they keep in stock, but it appears they have a good supply of both formula and food.

I also believe they sell babyfood in the stores at each hotel.
However you will save a lot of money and have a better selection if you drive offsite to purchase baby supplies. If you are flying in most of the car services (not the shuttle services) will allow a grocery stop.
I am not aware of babyfood being available in the restaurants. However I would suggest eating at the buffets, which typically have mashed potatoes and soft cooked veggies that you can mash and feed to your baby. I would suggest bringing a small babyfood mill.
There is no charge for children under 3 at the buffets.
ETA: WDW restaurants are very accommodating to special request. You can always ask for potatoes, veggies etc from th back that have not been seasoned yet if your baby is not yet use to salt, pepper, butter etc.

I used Garden Grocer. I got baby food, diapers, and wipes for the baby, and bottles of water (it gets expensive there) and some snacks for the room. I was great having it delievered to my room. The air lines are so strick with the weight of bags it’s just easier to not have to lug it with you.

Frosty Paws Ice Cream
32 ounces vanilla yogurt (little less than 1 liter)
1 mashed banana or one large jar of baby fruit (note, I used 2)
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
Blend all together and freeze in either 3 ounce paper cups ( the bathroom cup size) or ice cube trays. Yum-may!!
and about 1/4 the cost of the **real** Frosty Paws/
NOTE: This can also be made with baby food meat instead of the fruit and peanut butter.

Watch Full Lesson Here: www.mindbites.com Most people purchase all the pureed foods for their infants, however, you can make your own baby food! Making food for your baby is very simple, fast, and cost-effective. It doesn’t require any particular cooking skills, and can be done in about 10 minutes a week. The food is fresher and much better tasting than commercially produced baby foods. It is better for the environment, since it cuts down on packaging waste, better for your baby, because the food is more nutritious, and better for your budget, as it only costs pennies on the dollar of packaged food. You don’t even need expensive kits, just the cooking tools you probably already own, and this video!

When we were there last year, they did have baby food in the Baby Care Center and it was $1.50 a jar. The selection wasn’t too big. Have fun!
