Q&A–: i need activities for ten two year olds that aren’t too messy?
I teach pre-school to two year olds and it’s getting too cold to go outside. I need some activities to do inside that arent too messy but somewhat educational and fun for my class.

You can always bring things from other countries, like clothes, and stuff. And dress different everyday. Have educated parties, with foods from other countries. Have a spanish day every week where you will teach them spanish.
Play some hide and seek, and take extra long on the seeking? LOL.

Large cardboard boxes, some with openings on both ends. Let them arrange them however. You might want some sheets and pillows too. You can always have them decorate them first, crayons, paint, etc. Or cut them with holes for heads and arms to make cars and trains with.
There’s a gazillion types of play-do recipes, from edible to ones that you can dry. Constarch and water to play with, etc. But I’m sure you’ve heard of most of those.
Good luck on my messy part, they are two year olds.

“Jump Over the River” – It’s a gross motor skilled game where you take a piece of tape and put it on the floor. Then you have them take turns jumping over it with both feet at the same time. It’s fun and interesting to watch. My class of two years olds loved it. They never get tired of “Ring Around the Rosie”. Crafts are always fun and so is reading. “Bubble Breakdancing” – a game where you turn music on and blow bubbles. The kids dance and pop the bubbles. It’s a blast!!!

if you want them to be able to paint and color and draw without the mess get them the color wonder stuff from crayola, it is great and kept my little one occupied for hours at that age, other then that. kids always love big boxes…forts and such….building blocks…anything big enough they wont swallow it of course…like the square blocks with the letters and numbers and colors.

I agree with the tape on the floor game “Jump over the river”. It teaches gross motor skills and balance. You could also play “don’t fall off of the log” with the tape also and pretend as if they’re on a balance beam. What about kicking a ball around or blowing up some balloons? If you have room, call up your local appliance store and get a range or refridgerator box and have the kids color it or use some glue sticks to glue on their favorite photos and then use the box to crawl around in (leave the ends open so it resembles a tunnel) Good Luck!
