!!Tips :It’s very easy to get sucked into the constant advertising of baby powders, creams, and lotions. But the best baby lotion is plain old olive oil—cheap, natural, and un-perfumed. As for other products, keep it as natural, organic, and fragrance-free as possible.
Q&A–: how to make home made baby food?
i was wondering if anyone here has any quick and super easy baby food recipes that i can make my little girl and also how can i get it the same consistency as the gerber baby food?

The following is the answer: (Hint: The reader is not the correct identification.)

All I ever did for making my own baby food was steam up the fruit/veggies I was using and then throw them in a food processor and hold the button down until it was the desired consistency.

This is a pretty good site for making your own baby food.

you can try boiling vegetables like carrots and potatoes or fruits like bananas until they are soft, then you can mash them to make healthy baby food. There are also available food processors for babies out in the market. happy eating!

that sight hs so much info and what food to i introduce at what age and so on

i started with sweet potatos boiled themt ill it they were soft then used the extra water innside the pot to make them thinner i put them in one of those small food processers some ppl use them for like herbs or coffee …. for the peas and the beans you hve to strain them depending on how old your child is you can use a siv but its not the best consistency ….
apples pears i boiled didnt strain
peaches and plums i think i strained once but it turns kind of watery ( if its to watery you can add baby cereal
avacado is amazing as a first food even the first food just smash with a fork
banana smash with fork ….
those are all good starterss
oh and carrots and zucchini i boiled them till soft dont use the carrot water tho something about nitrates and zucchini dont put to much water cause they have alot of water in them already they will just turn to mush

Well, I cook several different foods for my daughter.

I buy those little pasta letters, then make a soup out of ‘em, and she loves them. i put some onion on them.
I also put water to a boil, put chicken in, veggies (potato, broccoli, green pumpkin, celery, cauliflower, and carrots) and it’s really good with chicken. I put everything in a blender after it’s soft, and comes out really good with chicken flavor and veggies.

I also cook her some rice and put pieces of chicken in there.
She never liked gerbers, always ate homemade food.

Well Gerber baby food is pretty easy to recreate.

All you have to do is leave some veggies in the back of a cupboard for a month, then dig them out, over-cook them, add some extra water, and process until the consistency of mud.

But in all honesty, your home made baby food does not need to be as thin as the foods sold in jars. All you have to do is steam or boil up some veggies, and mash them to desired consistency, or unless you are going the BLW route , you do not need to mash, you place pieces baby can pick up herself and feed them to herself.

At around 6 months or so I guess they don’t really need recipes, they need to be able to distinguish one flavour from another, and making elaborate mashes makes it hard for them to determine individual flavours.

I wouldn’t use recipes until maybe after 8-9 months old, but is is recommended to get them used to all sorts of flavours, that includes spices like garlic, chillis etc.
My son loves what we call “chicken goop” it’s pretty much whatever veggies we have, some boiled pasta, boiled chicken chunks, simmered in a creamy (well for us soy-milky) sauce.

Steam fruit and vegetables. Use a blender, blender stick, mini-food processor or infant food mill (they sell 3 brands on Amazon). It’s really hard to get green beans to the consistency of Gerber baby food. I’ve only succeeded doing that with a Thunderstick blender, but I don’t think they are sold any longer. That sucker worked perfect for baby food, especially meats.

You don’t need recipes. Just add a little water and blend whatever it is you have.

What do you think? Answer below!
