A 12-week-old clouded leopard cubs born at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo’s Conservation and Research Center (CRC) snags a meal. The cubs are getting bigger and bigger! The smaller cub now weighs five pounds seven ounces, and the bigger one is up to six pounds six ounces. The cubs have received their final vaccinations and just today moved from the hospital to enclosures in another building, where they will be able to see their parents. Both cubs are in the process of being weaned, and have graduated from eating turkey baby food and formula to having feline diet and a small amount of milk twice a day. Their coordination is also improving. The cubs play with stuffed animals as well as with each other, and their level of interaction with their keepers is increasing.

Question–: How much formula/baby food do you get for WIC?
I get 8 cans of Goodstart formula and 32 jars of baby food and 3 boxes of cereal. How much do you get and what kind? I’m just curious no negative comments please I’m just trying to provide good nutrition to my daughter while I finish college.

I get 12 cans of formula (GoodStart) per month and 32 jars of baby food and 4 boxes of ceral.

Yeah, I get 3 formula checks a month that each have 4 cans of formula on them. And I get 2 baby food checks per month that each have 16 jars of food and 2 boxes of cereal on them.

I can either get Gerber or Beech Nut. I could get Earth’s Best but I would get less jars.
I don’t use the jarred foods anyways, I give them all to a friend.

Wow 12 cans? When I used to get WIC, They only gave out 9 cans of Similac.
*Just out of curiousity, what brand of baby food do y’all get? Can you pick organic? Like Earth’s Best? Since my first baby passed away I only got benefits for me after she passed.

i only get 8 cans of Enfamil, 32 jars of food, and 3 boxes of cereal. so the same as you, just different brand of formula.
i usually end up buying her extra jarred food so that i can get her the flavors she really likes.

it depends on the state. i know in indiana my son was on the liquid concentrate and he got a solid 31 cans a month. they changed it a little bit now so my daughter got 31 cans through 3 months, 37 for 4-5 months, and it drops to like 25 ish at 6 months because hey start baby cereal and baby food. the brand also depends on which company has a contract with that particular state. in indiana the default is enfamil, in texas its similac, and i know in south carolina its goodstart. those are the main three brands i’m pretty sure

8 cans of formula, 3 boxes of cereal, and 18 2pks of baby food. I think the amount you get probably depends on your income, but i’m not sure.

My son received 11 cans when he was younger, but 8 cans when he was older (of good start). & when he was on nutramigen (more expensive formula for colic) he only received 7.
Otherwise we get the 18 2-packs & so many ounces of infant cereal, which equals 1lg box & 1 small box.

we get 8 cans od powdered similac allimentum. we havent reached solids thru wic yet
when my son was an infant he used concentrate so we got 31 cans of similac concentrate

The amount of formula & food you get is based on how old your baby is. When my son was born & up to 6 months I did get 10 cans of formula but once he could start eating jar foods they dropped it to 8 & I get the same amount of everything as you do now. I usually get Gerber but they do offer Beech Nut.

I’m just curious, I keep seeing people talk about WIC. What exactly is it? I’m assuming it’s only in the states? Is it just for low-income or is it like a no questions asked kind of help?

First of all, I live in California.
My son is going on 12 months and we’ve been getting 8 cans of Enfamil premium (have a choice between lipil and premium. premium mixes with less bubbles). Only one coupon for all of that formula. The baby food is broken down into two coupons. Both for 16 jars or 8 two packs and a box of gerber cereal of any kind. It doesn’t matter what baby food brand. God forbid it be a “dinner”, even though the cost the same! I never got that. It doesn’t really matter anymore anyway, because my son started refusing baby food at 10 months, so we’ve been feeding him HEALTHY table foods ever since. It’s kind of hard though since he has an egg allergy
