My husband recently purchased books for our son. He reads him Dr Seuss, Goodnight Moon, The little engine that could etc. He even does the voices. But I just do not get it. I don’t want my son to be listening to such drivel. I confronted my husband about this and told him that I will be reading to him from now on and that I will choose the book. But he was puzzled when I told him what sort of material I was using. I began with Dickens at the start, then moved on to tolstoy and Hemmingway. Our son adores the stories, which is splendid because he will have a headstart in developing him his intellect. But my husband, Karl, says that I’m moving too fast, too ready. He wants me to go back to the easier stories. I Do not know what to do.
Oh, he is 4 and is reading by himself, too, but he still likes when his mother and father read to him. Yes, he does understand the complex stories, even hemmingway

i did leave a year ago but have been back.. i know my husband does not abuse him. i also have a 21 yr old son there i talk to them at least 3 times a day.. i tried just moving to an apartment about 5 miles away but my husband stalked me i got a protective order and it didn’t work the police did nothing. so i decided to leave the state i asked my youngest child what he wanted to do he said he wanted to stay with his dad and brother.as a mother i had to decide what was best for him.. was it move him away from all his family, school, friends everything he knows or leave him there
