!!Good advice :Both parents should put the baby down for naps, feed her and change her. The more family resources she has, the more secure she will feel.
Q&A–: How do I develop this into a full length philosophy paper?
I am working on my first philosophy paper but after coming up with the basic outline of my argument, i’m not sure how to develop it into a 2-3 page paper. My task was to respond to the following statement: the introduction of computer technology into the educational system over the past 30 years has relegated critical thinking to a background app.
This is what I came up with:
Scepticism is the basis of critical thinking. The introduction of computer technology into schools is focused upon computer literacy: the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology, and the information gathered from these technological sources, efficiently. Computer literacy, therefore, does not include the need for students to be sceptical, or critical, of information found online.
Students in North American educational systems are being taught to trust figures of authority. Information that appears online is considered, by the majority of students, to have come from a figure of authority. This means that most students will accept, without question, information found online.
The combination of having the focus of classroom technology placed solely on computer literacy, along with encouragement for increased dogmatism by students, has changed the Canadian educational system drastically: it has placed critical thinking as a secondary skill, behind basic computer literacy and the simple knowledge of how to use information located online. Therefore, the introduction of computer technology into the educational system over the past 30 years has relegated critical thinking to a background app.
Thanks!!
